People call me a poser for wearing full leathers on my street bike but tbh, I'd rather be called a poser and know that I'm relatively safe in the event of a crash than to ride around in jeans and a t-shirt and end up with chunks of flesh missing from my body.

Monsta Munch I wear full gear when I ride to work and it's only a 5 mile ride. Point is you never know when you'll go down and id rather look like a poser and be alive than a squid and be dead.

Someone at work once asked me why I wear so much gear and I said it's because I like having all my skin.

Alpinestars is the only jackets I'll wear. never had to crash test mine but can say I bought a jacket over 13 years ago and it is still holding up today!!! it's actually in my gear video. I just bought a new jacket, gloves and boots for this season all Alpinestars!!!

AMAZING ventilation for such a solid and armored jacket! I check a LOT of times that I'm zipped up because I fee air coming in and I think I forgot something open. LOL. I've ridden in mid to upper 90s. If you keep MOVING AND take it off RIGHT AWAY when you stop, you should be good. Not as good as mesh, but you will be safer and I doubt you can get more air from any jacket of this level

I owned and rode a terrible specimen of a Suzuki GSX-600F back in 2002-2003 before getting rid of it in frustration, and never got back into riding until a few months ago. I'm presently at home recovering from 2 fractures in my left ankle. I was in a low speed (less than 30mph) get off at a round-about exactly 9 weeks ago today, and had to undergo ankle reconstruction surgery. My leg/foot has been in cast since and I'll be going in for another surgery to remove ONE of the TEN stainless steel bits that have been placed in my leg/foot during the surgery. I have always been EXTREMELY fanatical about ATGATT. I simply can NOT understand why a sane human being will get on a motorcycle, and then get onto a PUBLIC ROAD! I just simply don't get it! Now, on that day I was fully ATGATT. But since my Sidi Fusion Air boots were still in the mail, I borrowed a friends ankle-length motorcycle boots, which, unfortunately were a size or so TOO BIG for me. In the get down, my foot/ankle twisted, leading to the fractures, leading to IMMENSE PAIN; expensive surgery; more pain; another surgery; etc. IMO, proper motorcycle riding gear PROPERLY applied; proper motorcycle riding training/skills; and proper ATTITUDE are the first line of defense we have against harm or injury in this sport. For me, ATGATT is a no brainer. I wish us all safe and fun riding.

+XavierMOdAMO Sorry to hear that buddy!!! How's the ankle doing now?? Are you ever going to get back on the bike?? Or has it put you off for good?

I was looking at alpinestars and decided to go with Dainese due to a huge sale on their leather jacket. The mugello STR jacket. I love it, i commute to work every day about 18 to 22 miles one way 36 to 44 miles round trip. I would feel a bit silly wearing this kind of gear with my 98 Honda VFR800, but i was thinking about leather pants and leather jacket with the boots by alpinestars. I will buy a sports bike sooner then later.
@xavier4159 жыл бұрын
Woah its been a year already? Damn haha. Sold the VFR 800 and bought a 09 GSXR 750. Commute to work wearing the dainese avro c2 leather jacket, Sidi Vortice, AGV leather pants, Suomy Vandal helmet, Alpine stars GP plus gaunts. Feel safe riding now.

I'd say you are over the critical comments here. Nonetheless, as friendly advice, I suggest you tone down the right hand throttle movements - they are extreme and unnecessary. You are just turning a pipe. The problem is your exaggerated full arm actions can unsettle the front end which is already unloaded under acceleration. Sure, a bike is very forgiving, but you don't want to induce a tank-slapper at high speed. Watch MotoGP riders. They don't do the newbie turkey neck choke. Be smooth dude; feel the bike and how it wants to move. If you fight it and try to make it do what you want it will bite you back. Peace.
