US will never go against Pakistan if a real conflict break out between India and Pakistan because if US was really on Indian side they would have stopped financial and military aid to Pakistan by now. They have their own personal interests in this region i.e China and Russia so they will keep supporting both India and Pakistan at same time while giving better support to India keeping China in mind.

Arnav is right as far as the F16's sales is concerned. Though it must be said, it was the financial reason why Pakistan could not get the F16s anymore. Pakistan used to get subsidy on the F16 purchases from US. US congress did not approve the subsidy as the American Law makers felt that Pakistan is not doing enough on countering terror and hence their claim that these F-16's are required for anti-terror related operations do not hold true. Without the subsidy the Americans would give the F-16s but at the whole price of 700 million dollars per aircraft if it has to purchase one F-16. Which of course is not possible considering the Pakistani economy. So its not true that the Americans completely scrapped the F-16 deal as claimed by Arnav, they did remove the subsidy on it. www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-36169079
