I think India is also looking for opportunities to test its Pinaka in real world conflicts. While the older versions were quite successful in Kargil, the newer generations have far advanced capabilities including targeting and course-correction systems developed with help from Israelis. India is more focused on weapons like BVR missiles and rockets like Pinaka because in the current theatres these are proving to be more decisive in extended conflicts (that we might have with China or Pakistan). While less advanced that Chinese contemporaries, Indian weapons are considered more robust and reliable.
