The hopelessness could be a combination of populist power grab of capital and AI. Only traders with access to high frequency trading and AI are fundamentally breaking apart from the pack while the rest are being flooded out in volatility. But even large players are running out of areas to find productivity. Maybe why Dalio keeps referencing similarities to the late 20s. There will be a huge leveling of the playing field soon.
