India was definitely one of the most revelatory places I've ever been. It's like a year of life, happens in 5 minutes. You see a dead person over here, a baby taking their first steps over there, some young lovers embracing and kissing, people laughing, some shouting, others crying, a tuk tuk just crashed into a bus and next to that is a guy offering you some delicious food to eat. It is truly the wild, wild, east. Totally overwhelming and totally enthralling all at the same time. Loved that place.

I spent 6 months in India about a decade ago. I feel like it's the only country where you are likely to see both the best and the worst in humanity side by side. Raw and unfiltered. It's also the only country I have visited that is calling me back. If you haven't already, read a book called Shantaram. Great book on exploring India from an outsiders perspective.

As someone who grew up in one of the most strait laced societies ever(Singapore), India felt like a completely different universe. The pace and intensity of everything was overwhelming, yet it charges you up. And strangely enough, you find pockets of peace amidst the chaos. Lived there for a year in 2012 and has gone back almost every year ever since. Also, was traveling solo most of the time and as a female foreigner, I do stick out like a sore thumb, got groped multiple times but the positives greatly outweigh the negatives

Great pod!! .Duncan ❤ I spent 6 months working in Pune in Maharashtra, the same place Osho from the Wild, Wild Country documentary was from, his ashram is still operating, lots of westerners wandering about in long wine-coloured robes.. And my first sun holiday was to Jamaica in 1993, we flew Aeroflot from Ireland to Miami, where we had to disembark for some reason that I cannot remember, and then onto Montego Bay, we visited Bob Marley's grave in the mountains of St Ann where, at that time, there was the only legal marijuana plantation on the island and smoked not just a joint, but a cone of weed with a local rasta man, happy days 😊
