You forgot one important point. Always make sure the tank is completely full of gas it makes it so much easier.😂😂😆😆 Ride safe

100%. LOL. The first time I took the tank off it was damn near full and didn’t even think about until I went to lift it off the bike. This time it was empty

My tank actually got replaced under warranty because of a factory blemish and the day I brought it to my dealer I wasn't thinking. Filled right to the top 🤣.... We all had a good laugh

Hi Brian would love more info, and detailed video on just the custom dynamics lights when you are done. Also i used to use the "Common Sense" torque wrench until I started not having enough common sense. So for most things I now use the torque wrench. Too many bolts are going into brass, or aluminum and not much room for errors. Also the tech manuals for these bikes are easily found on line. I use it for torque specs. Appreciate you! ✌️

That side filter is just an add on, and it honestly doesn't do a heck of alot. Depending on who you talk to it's worthless. But it does look nicer IMO and can't hurt. It does not replace the main filter.

Some clever chap needs to design an after market modification, involving mounting a K&N filter ,for instance, in a much easier place than under the tank.

A lot to do just for an air filter change!

Yes it is. Once you do it, it's not so bad though.

Regarding the ugly nut on the tank, you could find a decorative cover with a rare earth magnet glued to it that will magnetically attach to said ugly nut. 💡💡🇦🇺
@chrishunter50412 жыл бұрын
A good how to, a smudge of Vaseline on the rubber bits 😉makes things easier, why not replace that ugly tank bolt with a polished flanged S&S dome one.

Indian kept the same design as the Victory. Gotta remove the gas tank. What a pain in the ass just to change the air filter. Ugh

@@michaelroy925 It takes folks on average 4 to 5 hours to change the air filter on a 2018+ Goldwing; all of the plastic has to be removed.

Wow! That`s a terrible design for an air filter that needs to be changed or cleaned quite frequently
@NormKohn2 жыл бұрын
wait, don't you need to run a bead of the included grease on the edges of the K&N filter before you install?
@dhess1402 жыл бұрын
I added the grease but I am not happy with the seal. There is just not enough of a lip to seal. I pulled the filter back out and didn't see where the grease was even displaced. This is concerning to me.
@NormKohn2 жыл бұрын
@@dhess140 I have a K&N ready to install but now have my doubts. I’ll order an OEM filter so I can compare.
@dhess1402 жыл бұрын
@@NormKohn the OE has foam rubber to seal. I am not sure this is any better. There is no way to gage compression as is. The inside surface of the frame-air box is not entirely flat because it is not a machined surface. There is room for improvement here.
@NormKohn2 жыл бұрын
@@dhess140 Definitely agree with your description. Which filter are you going to use moving forward?
@dhess1402 жыл бұрын
The hoses are meant to stay with the tank when you remove it. That is why they are zipped tied. Disconnect the fuel hose at the throttle body and the vent at the base of the tank.
@TwoIndians2 жыл бұрын
Well that makes sense!! LOL to be honest I followed those lines down and it looked like a real pain to get to them so I just did it my way. Maybe your bike has a different config

Polaris creates far more work than it needs to be to install or clean an air filter than it needs to be. Doesn't seem like Polaris put a lot of thought into this or they want the average rider taking the bike in. 1 more reason why i wont go back to Polaris Indian. I know, you will say i am bias because i call it a Polaris but thats because Indian is a division within the Polaris organization. Its not an independent company so it will always be Polaris Indian
