Coming from someone who failed neet exam because at the end i realised I don't want this lifestyle (yes I didn't study) I was badly treated at my home specially by relatives and comparison almost killed me, luckily i took a degree that gave me enough time to think about what i want ,tried to get certifications in careers that appealed to me and I finally decided accounting was the one. I didn't give up on my life because I wasn't a part of the overhyped profession that doesn't have a life. Main issue is that you're telling 15-16 year old to decide on a career without having any idea about I think this should be fixed first. Edit: people saying I'm making an excuse for failure, you're the reason why students are afraid to change their minds , because this no plan b shit trend is deeply glorified by coaching industries, MY DREAM IS TO BECOME A CFO ! It is not that the schools don't provide quality education, it is that the parents think only education that can crack competitive exams is quality. Even if the schools taught like coachings that would make no difference as the number of seats won't change and it will just create unnecessary stress for the average student. The parents need to be taught that no matter how much they spend they cannot make their child worthy of those prestigious institute unless the child himself wants to do it and has passion for it. Every point Vedant made is valid, I have been here since the start of my 11th grade and in 4 months I will be giving my JEE Advance exam. Luckily for me, my parents are very supportive in this regard. They often tell me not to worry so much about the result whenever they see me getting stressed but unfortunately not everyone has such luck. In fact, I have many friends who can’t even express their stress and anxiety to their parents which is not very shocking as most parents often take loans to provide the required facilities for their children. And regarding the toppers, yes they actually get a different hostel with all the facilities. Even 24/7 doubt solving faculties, private library, resources and obviously heck ton of money if they get a good rank. Kota can be a hell of a place for some people. In the beginning of my JEE preparation, our teacher told us that maybe only one or two people from our entire batch will end up in IITs, rest all will go home with empty hands.

You are an IITian you yourself know that the kind of facilities, exposure, companies, contacts and education you get IS SO MUCH BETTER than the rest. This fake humbleness that people show that you know IIT doesn't solve all your problems in life is like the statement that money doesn't bring happiness. Well it's true money doesn't bring happiness but it does reduce the problems which would make your sadness greater it allows to think about other problems in your life like your emotional and mental health. If someone is a daily wage laborer who's getting just enough money to survive do you think he'll have the luxury to say he's depressed? That's the difference. Yes, being in a good college doesn't solve all your problems but it does reduce them. You should motivate people to work hard and be better. The problem with successful people in India is that they either romanticize their struggle so much that it comes off as easy and everyone jumps on it without realizing the consequences and what they'll have to deal with it or they make their struggle sound so hard and the outcome of their efforts so low that it begins to sound demoralizing to anyone listening and makes them think well if you pour in that much effort and still the result is unsatisfactory then what's the point of doing it. Stop dramatizing the facts. PLS. You should tell them the truth

@@harshitsharma3689 hello Harshit, you are not wrong. College does help you in many ways. And I am in no position to tell that IIT is not what I wanted. I studied really hard and ya I got into the best college in my eyes. But I always find myself in a war whether to tell the truth to young people about big colleges. Many will disagree with me but sweet lies are better than harsh truths. But what I wanted to say is getting into IIT is not everything because 16k out of 10 lakh is a really bad ratio. Take nits around 24k . So around 40k students each year go to these colleges. Like I said after getting into these colleges life gets easier but not what they promised us. None the less, even if it's not up to the expectation , life is balanced. As a fellow college students you can understand the pressure we all have to go thorough because of PORs , competitions which can lead to depression. But life you said, it's true that money can't buy happiness, but I would rather have money. Maybe I am just blabbering one of the perks you get when there's many assignments to solve and the deadline. The solution can only be achieved when the government itself puts a FULL STOP. You don't need 6 years to prepare for exams like JEE and NEET. But the problem arises when YOUR COMPETITION IS WITH STUDENTS WHO ARE PREPARING FOR 5-6 YEARS. In that case parents WILL feel "obligated" to do the same for their child taaki "baccha bakiyo se peeche na reh jaaye".So if the coachings are stopped from admitting children before say class 10, it will level the playing field for everyone. There's a reason we are made to choose our streams afet class 10, so how can one justify sending a class 8 child to an engineering coaching? (Typing this on my way back from coaching, while my younger sibling is doing the same)

I'm not saying this hypothetically , I'm a current student from so called reputed institute rn I'm preparing for neet ... The teachers instigate parents to an extent that parents raise theirs hands . If u are absent in ptms they'll call ur parents separately . There u feel like ur life is over ... And especially when u pay lakhs of rupees just for one year and u are unable to score ... everyone around me is trying to achieve some future goals but I am not interested in it. Those peoples want materialistic things which they work hard day and night for that and have left happiness behind. I accept that some of those enjoyed in their work but I bet that most of them hate it. I don't Want any materialistic things in my life, I just want Peace. earlier I want to be rich, fame, power, respect, High social status,.. but now when I think about it, I feel that these things are not what I want, those are materialistic, it moh and after u die I doesn't come up with u. I slowly realized that what I realy want to do is bhakti. its the ultimate journey. I want to be close with god. other people in world are always tensed in life about future, they are always running behind success, and when they get old the come up to the light of bhakti for peace in life, but I will achieve that in young age which they get at old age. I don't want success I want peace. I don't care if I die or live I always want to sleep and only sleep and never wake up . I want to get hit by a train , someone shoot my head with shotgun ,I just eat cynide , fall from burj Khalifa, beaded by sword with just one hit, my hear should fail when I am sleeping, eating lots of medicines so that it cause overdose and Finally to death, all I want is painless death as soon as possible. I am tired of life. It all started in winter when I was at Hostel at for my neet prepration. there I was suffering from winter blues or Seasonal affective disorder. and its more than a Year I am till suffering from it. now I am Doing drop as I didn't Qualified last Year. so when I came back to Hostel after Diwali I get too lazy, I was sleeping too much (i even slept 20 hrs some time), not studying at all, watching webseries and movies , i didn't bath for weeks, I orders lots of snacks online from big basket ( as I didn't have to go outside to get it ) , sometimes I cried for my condition , I wanted to get out of this and focused at study again but everytime I try I get to the same situation again and again. My whole routine was waking up , not Bathing, eating breakfast , watching webseries /movies, then eating lunch ( sometimes i Skip lunch and breakfast as I couldn't wakeup due to tiredness) , then again watching webseries/movies or sleep , eating evening snacks, watching webseries and movies, dinner , playing Football at yard, watching webseries and movies till 1 or 2 am then same routine. I was not interested at study at all, when parents asked about study I tell them its going well and tell them false marks in tests. I had became very self destructive. I knew that I am not gonna crack neet so then why should I study, when there were my 12th board exams my mindset was like if I pass its good and if I fail no worries as I don't care about my future , but Luckily my father had given money to the college for cheating and I passed it. Then I gave neet and after that mht CET, I did worst in both. Now I will tell you that why I was not taking exams seriously. I was not depressed or sad but at this Point I feel that why am I living in this world why shouldn't die already , I already made my plan for future, I decided that I will get into Biotech or BSc microbiology through CET and I will enjoy my 4 years of college life , after that I will do suicide in such a way that it look like accident like getting hit by a heavy vehicle, I was not caring about my parents because First is that the pain of loosing me will last for few months, after that everything will be normal, second is that my family is above middle class so there is no problem for money to live decent life for them. My mindset was like I always want to die soon instead of alive, even if I'm happy , if someone gave me a gun, I would shoot myself 😂. I don't think I’m depressed, in fact I'm quite happy with my life. I just don't see the purpose of living.I mean people say that they have inspirations, They want to become like someone having Great personality , want to be rich, etc, but my Point is what at the end, you will be dead in soil. And suppose if you die by Doing Great Works so that people would always remember you as inspiration like our freedom fighters did , but will those things affect you after you die 😂. so this is it. After result my parents didn't get angry at me and I was littl shock, my father was coolest , he said that don't worry if nothing happen I will get your admission in private MBBS collage through Donation, but I didn't wanted that as I had already made my plan to die and even if I get admission through Donation I would have died by guilt of the Donation money. After that I started getting attracted towards bhakti. I am getting amazed by bhakti.I was getting a Super devote of Shree Ram ,Shree Krishna ,Hanumanji And Shiv Ji .I was watching videos of amogh lila prabhu on KZbin, he is the member of iskon who pray lord Krishna especially. I was very impressed by their way of Living , they don't care about anything only they do is just pray, bhajans, dance, live a simple life , no materialistic attractions, they are living in Peace and joy under the light of god. many rich peoples give their everything in daan and become a Devotee. I can bet that Sadhu sants are living a way better life than the people in corporate life. Now I decide to take one last drop for neet, don't know why . I have decided that this would be my last drop and I will not watch any movies or web series till neet 2024. I decided to study online by PW. I also stated going to Hanuman mandir every Saturday . The starting 2 months were going very well , but in august I was tired and started to watch movies and web series. then in September I get into senses and again started studying, then again in October I started watching web series 😫😩 . I was hating myself

One truthful point I would like to add.. Parents should not expect much from their kids.. that my child is studying at India's no. 1 coaching for IIT .. and in order to get him enrolled I spent this much money.. so he/she will definitely clear the exam.. and that's where the pressure arises... And an average student of near 16 year old who is already in an illusion that he understands the world.. keeps on procrastinating initially and when the time remaining is less.. instead of talking to parents or to somebody.. starts thinking of suicide and the main reason is..my father spent a lot of money on my coaching and I couldn't study well.. they've set really high hopes of my success. And only I know my own condition..What if I don't clear my exam .. what'll the relatives say, my friends in my previous school thinking of me as if I'm a genius.. what'll they say.. and there you go.. step taken.. not even thinking slightly to talk to parents or somebody or even trying do best in the time left.. Suicide gets committed even before result..

For those that really want to do it it can be a good pro. but for those who don't truly, you can get reality checks since childhood easily if you're observant enough + parents communicate without the excessive self-destruction & abuse, destroying mental health, neglecting physical health & relationships and a lot more too. • & Today internet (when people have the ability to think for themselves, self-improve/educate & know how to research/working part time right places + talking to professionals in spaces like linkedin etc online can get you a reality check too. Also from seeing people talk about people from kota, I'd say people are more likely to go into depression after meeting only such kinds of people than get stronger/normalize this behaviour/presume they should do the same etc. • a main comment said most people only care to be friends if your grades are high & that's the first thing many ask. • imo if the exams harder, it's the culture that makes it 100X worse as it assaults your mental health necessary to study & crack for exams. Unless you're lucky to not be in that culture somehow.

1. Coaching centers aren't the sole culprits; scrutiny should extend to the school education system's shortcomings in preparing students for competitive exams like JEE or NEET. 2. Accountability must be assigned to those crafting exam papers, questioning why they design papers so challenging that even graduates find them difficult within the stipulated time frame. 3. Specifically focusing on JEE, holding both educational institutions and exam setters accountable could effectively address the monopoly and unethical practices prevalent in the coaching industry.

Potential Solution to all this BS: 1. Instead of a Child's interview to get into a school, parents should interview the school staff. Hum kyu apne bache ko aapke paas bheje? These teachers should be interviewed because the child has to spend about 6 hours at school. So what is the guarantee for a better education (both moral and academic) ? 2. Interest dekho bache ka. There are signs that a child gives about his/her talents. Parents are sometimes too ignorant to notice. 3. Pados ke sharma ji should keep his mouth shut. Better if parents don't listen to his verbal vomit. 4. Coaching join karna is ok as long as the child is absolutely clear of his/her interests in life. Shoving it down the throat because of societal pressure is just plain nonsense.

hello, an 11th grader jee aspirant here, the thing with these exams is that it requires you to dedicate hell lot of EXTRA time in studies to crack them because of which students like me decide to go to non-attending (dummy) schools and it does affect you, I used to win Youth Parliaments but now I STUTTER when asked to speak/converse. In short no development in any co-curricular and lack of friends which we had in school cause earlier everyone was friend but now making friends who you can trust is very tough. These exams asks shit which are not even in NCERTs, while the whole syllabus is supposedly BASED on NCERT. In coaching they are in a freaking hurry to complete syllabus on god. I used to like physics as I found it practical but this whole system just killed my curiosity to think and wonder. People think that NEP is going to help to go away with these streams and stuff, but when the college upfront asks you to score good in 3/4 particular subjects then how does NEP help i dont understand. the government is taking these decision like putting spring in fans. SPRINGS!! bc woh bande ne 30 lectures current electricity ke padhe hai, tumhare saamne poora pankha khol ke rakh dega and not allowing students under the age of 16 to take admission is just like putting band-aid on a completely annihilated hand. They should device a whole new system of college admission and exams related to same. I know this is also not possible thanks to 1.4 Billion population, China also has the dreadful exam named " gaokhao " but atleast they have enough infrastructure hamare paas toh woh bhi nahi hai. You have to sacrifice your whole 11-12th ka school life and study ghis ghis ke and then if you pass all the hurdles like " exploited " reservation system you get into a college (in the best case) which gets a ranking of 150 in the whole world and even after going into the college life is not chill, evident by the no. of suicides happening in IITs. So yeah this whole system is good for nothing. at last its just an opinion of a frustrated 11th grader who could have the most out of his school life but didn't and is very naive to comment on all these things. but yeah itna toh clear that I will force my children to NOT take my route.

We continuously put emphasis on India's "demographic dividend", that we have the advantage of the most youngest population and we are in our golden period of growth...may be yeah, India will grow....but, here's a bitter truth, if India somehow solved this education system problem, there's nothing that can stop us....otherwise "India will get old before it gets rich" because most our youth is wasting their precious productive time in preparing for competitive exams, and not only preparing but many of them take a gap and repeat and waste even more time.... Creating some new education policies won't help, cause problem is not the education system, I repeat "problem is not the education system". It's deep rooted in the whole ecosystem and the societal thinking, because there is a lack of awareness about other career options but also that other career options don't provide the desired salaries... Even in engineering, mechanical and civil guys wants to get placed in IT, because there are not many jobs in other sectors and if there are some, they don't offer the desired salary and low growth prospects. Because we failed to build an ecosystem where other sectors could thrive, we didn't focus on manufacturing and jumped into service sectors, which also will show a slowdown in a decade. And now most importantly the problem of societal thinking, we respect and judge people based on the work they do and how much they earn, our youth lacks the hunger and tries to play it safe...cause just getting a job is a bigger deal for most of the people, cause most of our youth lacks the guidance and resources and hence the resistance to take the risks. Everyday a new video on KZbin comes up which talks about our education system and coaching industry, and nothing happens, we just blame it on the system amd move on... Let's change it.... It's hard but it has to change now....

What people fail to understand is that the issue lies not within the coaching centers, but with Indian parenting at large
@kizryuver5 ай бұрын
That but it's a multi-factorial issue? As parents are shamed & manipulated by social comparison/brainwashing about what"best" thing is which other parents,relatives and people do too. When they all know 0 thing about current job/career market Because their time of job hunting is gone. • one thing enables another creating a chain reaction so much that I could make a mind map of how what affects what. • i.e grandparents,relatives,friends,aquaintainces brainwash parents + their own experiences> pressure on students + 0 communication > • Parents & society demanding certain education than improvement > Coaching & education system see parents dancing to their whims & don't change or don't take 1-2 parents feedback > keep getting greedy/raising prices with same outdated teaching. > Students lack real world skills/confidence/ability to self-educate/take their own decisions/job hunt > companies find them unemployable due to lack of skills > students end up unemployed > shamed by parents/relatives with no moral support & depression > some find inspiration from KZbin videos/blogs/internet/self-improvement & self-educate & build freelance career/get a job/some give up till they find something inspirational or sadly end their life. • Blaming one thing will never solve the problem. We as a society have to address it all factors, multiple root causes and change our behaviour & speak up against problematic things we see around us. • there's also outdated education system that doesn't teach how to study/learn at all or things necessary to live happy,safe,healthy lives while you study which cause burn outs too.

Very apt! I always had this opinon about coaching industry. Though I admire Alakh sir, but the claim to revolutionize education is just farce; the only thing it does is increasing the competition. Like there's no point in reducing the fees or even giving free education if the sole purpose of that education is to clear an exam; coaching free hai, but seats to utni hi haina (demand and supply)

Every child deserves a parent, but not every parent deserves a child. Most of these parents are narcissistic and abusive. They put so much pressure on that child since they were very young and by the time they are teenager , they have Anxiety and depression and unable to handle life or the pressure or grasp whats happening so end up killing themselves and people say he was weak so killed himself. Our society lacks Apathy and emotional intelligence.
@abhisvines947811 ай бұрын
The society is infamous for many things, the dream of engineering and doctor is one of them. One thing that can change all these is the perspective of parents if they start understanding that jee and neet aren't the only things that are available then there will be lesser suicides.... Although i gave an opinion its just temporary solution the main thing we need to do is improving the education system where we teach children, social skills, physical activities, skills important in today's job market, if we slowly manage to make this into reality India will truly change. Because the only problem in India's education system is that it lacks the education and the system.

3:35 I feel that this is totally unfair to those of us who traditionally join coachings in class 11th. I personally loved studying science since the smaller classes and i even knew about coaching centres having programmes for classes 6-8 which I really wanted to join but didn't really care because i saw that as tuition and i didn't really need tuition because i was still really doing well in school. It was in class 11th that I was too late to realise that i should have joined coaching because my parents were too obsessed with the fact that I got only 90.8% marks in class 10th and I could not maintain the top rank unlike previous years, and I nearly ended myself a couple of times throughout the year 2022 without anyone noticing, more so because of the fact that I was getting bullied in class. Then I joined coaching in class 12th in a one year batch in 2023, guess what? I felt double the pressure, felt like quitting this nasty life a couple of times even though my conditions at school were improving. Teachers still had expectations. So I felt let's give myself more chances. Now I just gave JEE mains this 27th and I'm expecting a good result but if I don't get it, well yeah I guess I will just study for boards. I genuinely think this is the first correct step in correcting these coaching centres. The race is made much more unfair if students from class 6th to 8th just because "early bird benefits" like shut the f*** up dude are we stupid who are enrolling in class 11th or 12th? 11:13 Not only these JEE and NEET exams, but there are also International Olympiads (not the SOF ones) that are conducted in almost all countries and then they form teams for the final level, just like in Olympics. These olympiads are the main reason that children join coaching institutes at a very young age because that's where the preparation of these olympiads are done. Our country India has won a ton of medals at these olympiads and that's what students like us also wanted to. These subject specific olympiads contain questions that even IIT won't put in the JEE syllabus and the ONLY place to study them would be these coaching centres because schools are shit. I had always had a fanatic interest in astronomy since the childhood, and I really want to pursue a career in it so I thought that the INAO exam would be the perfect choice for this. But when I started its preparation, it turns out that those children who join in 6th were already preparing for it, and olympiads have much less success rates but much higher prestige than JEE exams because you get direct admission to Western universities with much better faculties than IITs. Indian universities currently don't favour research, most of them train you to become company CEOs and earn money. This is what encourages people to join IIT and for that join coaching centres. Indian education system needs to understand that money earning jobs are not everything. There's the research sector as well, India needs scientists too just like the pre independence era. We need to retain the research oriented students in India so that they don't go to dangerous places like America where racism and crime take the centre stage. There should be more opportunities for students in India who want to pursue research. I want to pursue research, but I had to enter this rat race of JEE only because the government closed down the KVPY exam just at the right time when I got into class 11th. Now we don't even know when they are going to implement that so called INSPIRE exam which they were going to replace KVPY with. My school never notified us about when the exam was going to be conducted because no school has been notified yet. Our country needs more opportunities for those who want to pursue research.

@adityasinghtxc11 ай бұрын
As someone who was in a topper batch in Allen i can tell ki ye different modules utne matter ni krte, its basically a book with more complicated and advanced questions jo ki exams me utne jyada matter ni krte, its like ki if u r topper tumne already sab padh rakha hai to time bacha hai to aur padh lo, like selection ke liye to hogya but ab rank lane ke liye padh lo and about teachers, yes they matter a lot, my teachers were the best of best, but some fked up real bad in the end. Don't think much about the toppers batch, these batches are created for creating rankers unlike normal batches which are created for just cracking the exams.

Parenting should be blamed as much as the coaching industry. How did coaching industry become so vicious and exploiting in nature? It's because we, the common people went mad over IITs, NITs, and top medical colleges. The obsession of middle class for the top institutes is being exploited by the coaching industry. Nothing is important than the life itself but nowadays, kids see the flashy lifestyle of the highly achieving people and they put themselves under the pressure to achieve the same. Another reason is peer pressure. These all things should be understood by the parents and kids should be taught that failure in an exam doesn't make his/her life meaningless. Sadly, it's a vicious cycle that starts from obsession of parents for engg. and medical colleges followed by the exploitation done by the coaching industry and eventually leading the students into a stressful environment. MY EXPERIENCE: I too failed in JEE Advanced. I experienced stress during my preparation phase, scored poorly in tests but I knew I'm lacking somewhere. During all this, I never thought of commiting suicide even though I come from lower middle class and there used to be a lot of financial turbulence in those days. My parents never gave me a talk on stress, suicide, and all these negativities, still I never thought of it because I grew up in a 'never give up' environment. All we need is a positive outlook towards life and of course a better education system. Better eduaction system brings opportunities other than engineering and medical. :)

I remember when I was preparing for NEET, I was doing so well in the first 7-8 months but as time passed by the teachers in our coaching institute used to emphasize more on the number of hours we study. They used to say " yeh abhi golden period hai use it wisely, we should study for at-least 12-15 hours a day, give up on everything that will distract you i.e friends family. So much so that one day one of the sir during the lecture told us to give it our all for a few months and to DESTROY OURSELVES ". That messed with my mind so much so that I tried studying those many hours for around 2 months without talking to anyone just cooped up in my room studying with no physical movement at all and after that my brain couldn't take it anymore. The amount of pressure the teachers used to put us through in the last few months saying that this exam will decide how you'll lead your life. With so many things going on i couldn't do well in the last few months of my preparation which led to me not being able to clear the cut off.

Schools ,for a part, make institutions like IITs more exclusive by not being adequate in their education standards - the same applies for boards like CBSE. Schools and coaching centers in India are overpriced. With fees soaring, like the 2 lakhs INR for JEE tuition and 3 lakh per annum school fee my family faces, it's clear traditional schooling needs a rethink. The NCERT syllabus feels inadequate compared to freely available online resources. It's high time to shift to supportive roles for schools, promoting open schooling and self-study as viable alternatives for more effective and affordable education.

seeing so many views the worst come from the elders apparently who are thinking on purely logistics and greed and even worse comes from people who are giving general advise. I support government decision on this one but i would also like to see some these restrictions put on schools as well like qualification and background check of teacher and also limiting the number of students per class the school (i am studying has 60 students/section) to 20 to 25 (this change would also increase the employment rate but the downside is building of infrasture but that would help in the long run)

Now you might think why I am talking about this... What I want to highlight that we have failed as a society to create AWARENESS about children's mental health in parents. They simply are in the misconception that only studying is what can give their children stability. Creating awareness in newer generation of parents and also explaining your parents to make your younger sibling's lives better is all that's left to do.

Ok this is coming from a student who failed JEE and is in a 3 tier college. The competition which everyone is scared of. That is real. Whether you like to believe it or not but yes that cut throat competition is actually real and people are pouring in everything to get into a good college. And some people might say that you know it's just a paper and all but let me tell you YOU ARE WRONG. It's the next 4 years of your life, what kind of environment and opportunities you'll get are decided by where you study. The better college you get into you actually get more time and chances to be innovative and find your passion elsewhere if you feel like you don't belong in your current line of education. STUDY. OR YOU WILL REGRET IT. The world is not a bed of roses. I'd like things to be better, for everything to be less stress inducing and people to be more understanding towards mental health but even if that were the case the cut throat competition wont disappear.
