I’m with you on the green shadows (I only have a couple, but I want more) - I feel like there are so many shades of green. There are at least 3 colourpop palettes that are all green without any repeated shades, for example. Edit: I am insane. I have 34 green eyeshadows. I just checked. That is not a couple. Send help.

Lethal cosmetics is great, the product is beautiful, I really love being able to rearrange all my shadows so easily! I have recently ordered from them, the shipping was super fast from Germany to the USA. Their customer service is great, I had a problem, and they reached out to me super fast and it was quickly resolved. Devinah restocks often and their shadows are beyond beautiful!

My first order from Cliondh took 5 and half months!!! Part of that was due to covid of course but half a year!! My second order was a preorder set to ship in November and currently it has been presumably stuck in customs for the past month, so yeah, the wait is real!

I think more brands that focus on single eyeshadows would benefit from sharing weekly color stories (and engaging their audience in the process) like Lethal Cosmetics. Often people who prefer palettes over singles do so because they like having their color schemes curated by someone else, with Lethal Cosmetics you get the best of both worlds. I also generally like how they interact with their audience on social media, I've also had good experiences with their customer service.

The thing that keeps me from indie brands so frequently, is the selling out of product. I'm an adult with a job. I cannot and will not sit by my phone or computer refreshing to purchase. Obviously, they are doing fine without my money. They also do a lot of pre-orders... yeah, not ever doing that b.s. again.

I feel like the prestige aspect of indie brands is a combination of "I have enough leisure time and am dedicated enough to wait around and get these very rare things," and "I am such a fanatic member of the beauty lovers group that I know about these indie brands." And I don't need my makeup to be prestigious. I made one exception for one preorder from Devinah for 3 multi chrome singles, but they were so pretty I couldn't help it.

I have noticed that multichromes or even any kind of sparkly shadow just doesn't show up well on photo or video. Recently got my very first Pat McGrath mothership palette. Swatches looked incredible on my arm, soooo much better than in promotional swatches...so I was very pleasantly surprised. But when I took a photo to show my mum, they looked ordinary. So I tried a video...same result! I have also noticed that my swatches from my Sydney Grace x Mel Thompson palette behaved the same! Super frustrating from photo/video aspect, but a nice surprise in real life...as they are always better than the promo pics can do them justice.

Bombing your comment section lol...Cliondh and Devinah definitely have a similar formula especially Cliondhs glitter multichromes. Those have some almost exact dupes within Devinah. That being said Devinah is way more accessible and they always have really good discount codes

Sometimes ordering from the United States can cost more in the long run when shipping to Canada - including the conversion of USD to CDN, customs and shipping. What might seem like a really good deal online has really burnt me in the end - even when considering the conversions. I would say that despite Clionadh being more expensive and taking longer to ship - it is most cost effective. Additionally, speaking for myself as a Canadian - we are currently watching hugely iconic companies like the Hudson Bay (although now owned by an American company) and Le Chateau closing their doors. I work for a Canadian owned company and I think it is a shared concern that we collectively are trying more and more to support Canadian brands because so many American companies have dominated our market. Supporting Canadian is a huge sentiment with a majority of people I know. In fact, people will go out of their way to support Canadian companies because of how much of a foot hold American brands have here. It is a thing. So, while I would have ordered from their brand, I am 100% more inclined to support a Canadian company. I honestly hope within the next couple years Clionadh will be sold at Canadian beauty companies. I think we need to see more and more Canadian owned companies in the more mainstream market!

There’s definitely cross overs between Devinah and Clionadh, among the deeper jeweled multichromes and the iridescent multichromes. I did a video on the Aurorae Flare collection (before they released the new shade Chromosphere) and I duped all the shades with a Clionadh. Though Devinah is less expensive. There are shades that Devinah has that Clionadh and Terra Moons even don’t have but then Clionadh has some unique deep jeweled multichromes that other brands don’t have. Overall they are such great quality and highly recommend trying these brands out!! I have Adept on my list for try as they have some gorgeous shiny and sparkly eyeshadows which just always get me right in the feels 🙈

The one that is on top of my list for 2021 is Lethal Cosmetics, really like the look of their face powders as well as eyeshadows🥰 Also really hoping to try Kaleidos Cosmetics, including the new prophecy highlight😍 Also have been wanting to get my hands on the Rituel de Fille yellow & orange creams...have become obsessed with orange and yellow blush this year...these look lik perfection 🧡💛 Unfortunately being in Australia, most indy brands are not easily accessible, mostly due to ridiculous shipping costs

Love your draping blush look. You and Pompberry have inspired how I wear my blush now. I use eyeshadows as blush. Because of that I don’t watch run of the mill makeup videos anymore unless it’s a review or maybe RBK. 😍 I don’t think I will ever be at a patience level required for Clionadh.😔 2021 is a no buy for me but love these videos.

I did it - I DID IT. I ordered the two Clionadh bundles on SALE this last round because it is a) a brand I have wanted to try for years b) they are a Canadian indie brand and c) I don’t want any more eyeshadows after this because I have everything else. I also ordered a LOT from Le Chateau closing (😢) because I love their clothes and my wardrobe was looking rough. So, I will not being buying much again the beginning of 2021 - aside from maybe some BareMinerals from work because we just got it in! I don’t know if I have heard about Emme Cosmetics... or at least that they are Canadian.

From my experience, Lethal had great shipping and turn around times. There products apply beautigully. The shimmers are like butter! The mattes I do get quite a bit of kickup when using a fluffy brush. Overall, happy with my purchase. Clionadh stained glass collection...I may have bought it all. There are a few shades that look similar online but in person everything definitely looks unique and has it's own beautiful shift. They apply perfectly; not a lot of fallout and they last on the skin! The Glitter-type bundle is very chunky glitter that can stay chunky or melts into a finer glitter if you go over it with your finger. Perfect for highlighter too! The pastel series was the most forgetable imo.

That little green Artistry palette, oh!!! Love it. They cut the fat there, and I'm here for it; please more companies, ditch the extra neutral mixing shades we all have and stop making us pay for another dark brown corner shade. This palette is energizing because it's pure color.

I love the idea of multi cromes (I own the Devinah ones and one from touch of glam) think a super shiny ones on the lid with mattes in the crease would work just as well for the same type of looks

I went for the Clionadh glitter mulithcromes, they are not only cheaper they are so beautiful! I have a small lid space so I didn't think the other ones would show up but the sparkle on the glitter multichromes is just beautiful! :)

Lethal's palette builder on their website is so fun to play with! I'd love to try their shadows, but it's not realistic for me with shipping to Canada, so just getting to make fun colour combos and dream palettes is enough for now.

I have the moonspell palette, I personally think the quality is good and I love how Manny does his packaging...and that Eternal Eclipse palette of his is singing her siren song...i must resist! From kaleidos I only have the cyber bronze (buttery blendable smoothness all round) but I have heard great things about all the 6 pan palettes (sashimi city, lunar lavender are on my wishlist along with contour palette, ray rider and those discontinued blush duos!). Clionadh looks amazing but shipping to europe would take forever (and in combination with all the shadows I want) costs approximately one black market kidney. For me Gimme Glow, Devinah, Midas, Odens Eye and JD Glow are also on my 'someday' wishlist. But Sydney Grace is even higher on that list with that green singles bundle, the enduring love palette and tiny marvels. Im not german but live in Germany so I would really like to support the indie brands here too...so 2021 will b the year i try lethal cosmetics...i am loving their vibe! And couldnt agree more their website is so user friendly and appealing!

I'm so curious about almost ALL of these brands. The only one I've tried is Lunar Beauty. I have the Moon Spell palette and it's lovely. I really like the formula, I had zero customer service issues and the packaging is 10/10.

I want all the Clionadh. I prefer their other formulas over the multichromes. Grisaille and UV are my absolute favourite eyeshadows that I own. What I want is the Beet Shield but I can't get it here. I am curious about Midas.

What I want the most right now is the new Alamar Colorete blush trios (the light and the medium) - I got the light one from the previous set, and I love it so much. The issue is that they don't ship to my country (the previous trio I could only get, looking back, because they were included in a previous Boxycharm or some other subscription box like that, so people put them up on ebay, and I found a listing at a pretty affordable price together with the shipping). I also want to try the Em Cosmetics Lip Cushions, they look amazing. I am going to probably wait until Black Friday for this.

I was fina able to order a couple shadows from Clionadh this month. I know it will take forever to get them, but I was really intentional on the shades I purchased. I have (and love!) several shadows from Devinah. Since I’m in the US they are pretty quick for me and more accessible than Clionadh ;)

I’ve been planning on placing a Clionadh order for a year but whenever I check, they never have the bundles and shadows that I have my eyes on. With my shopping style and the shipping time, it just hasn’t worked out yet. I might place one this week, though. I ordered their Stained Glass magnetic palettes when they first released the collection and they included Ripple and it’s so beautiful. Lethal Cosmetics is really amazing! I ordered their Hive and Skyward + Landfall Collections and they’re beautiful. I’ve hit pan in Altitude, which is the first shadow I’ve hit pan in in years. I’ve also been planning on placing another order for them (their liners are supposed to stay extremely well in the waterline) but I just haven’t been able to bring myself to check the cart out. Maybe in 2021? Devinah shadows are beautiful but extremely delicate from my experience. I opened one of my magnetic palettes last week and one of their shadows (one from the Somewhere Over The Rainbow Collection if I remember correctly) and it had broken all over the rest of the shadows. I hadn’t moved that palette in weeks and it was in the “safe” spot of my collections. And the reason why the “safe spot” in my collection exists is also because of Devinah shadows. My cat managed to knock down a nine pan palette with Devinah’s green matte collection- dropped maybe three feet- they all shattered. I was shattered. I found green eyeshadow for three months. I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re accident prone, but also I’m accident prone and probably going to order from them eventually because they’re beautiful and I’m a sucker. Kaleidos eyeshadows are so, so beautiful. I have their original four futurism palettes and for some unknown reason, their oranges are the only oranges that I feel look good on my eyes. God, they’re gorgeous. The shade names are on the plastic protectors though, and I’m always in a rush so that is a con to them. Even when they’re shut they can slide out at times. I think Annette from Annette’s Makeup Corner tapes them to the back, though, so that’s an easy fix if you aren’t committed to keeping them in the palettes. I haven’t tried Likely Makeup yet but I’ve had them on my wishlist for so long. The Clown and Fairy Blush palettes??? The colored lashes?? I keep picturing a red eyeshadow look with either red or blue lashes and I add them to my cart all over again. Ooh, with the Melt Vida and Muerte palettes? God, okay again- probably 2021. My birthday is coming up anyways.

Manny Mua’s moon spell palette is really good, the only shade in it that isn’t very good is the colour Prue, it’s not very pigmented as shown in the pictures and it does take a bit of work to even to get it work a little bit.

I multichromed myself into oblivion this year.....from all the Indie brands - even completed the entire Clionadh Stained Glass collection. Lethal is a top 10 indie brand for me too. Love their formula. The shimmers are really good. I also became obsessed with Tammy Tanuka pigments. Actually, I think I amassed over 400 new indie singles this year!! 🤑 The gap between multichromes is definitely closing. In fact, JD Glow, Terra Moons and Devinah multis are almost indiscernible from Clionadh jewelled now. I did some swatch comparisons, they’re virtually all identical quality. I really want to try Menagerie - but they won’t ship to Australia! 😫 Next year I’m in a no buy.

I'm picky about my makeup collection & it's very aesthetic focused, so Indie brands I'm rather narrow on-not to mention the price in comparison (for good reason) but there's some I'm hoping to save up for in 2021- I'm looking for some more from a couple & then to locate comparable shadows to tom fords special glitter shadows cause i don't want to pay $80 for the perfect topper although it is very tempting. -Menagarie Cosmetics ; So close to balling out on these bad boys all their stuff is gorgeous, those powder products are so divine & inspiring. Super interested in this fruit bat palette they're teasing atm -Likely Makeup ; Not a lash person, but I love the look of those blushes -Lunar Beauty ; Somehow, the goddess palette in all it's neutral glory speaks to me, who wears yellow & pink eyeshadow 80% of the time.. -Rituel de Fille ; Their 'clean beauty' shtick rubs me the wrong way, hate that shit & I'm getting a bit frustrated with all of the limited drops which encourage impulsive spending especially at that pricepoint, but also their products are so special looking; where else can i find a product like some of those nectar balms yknow? -Kaleidos Cosmetics ; I picked up a couple of things during black friday and i was surprised at how fast I got them (for reference, I'm OCE & yes they're based in CN but all the same, not used to getting things within a month.) Super Impressed with what i've tried so far, and I want to try more -Salt New York ; I have a quad from them & I bought my Mother some stuff and it's her perfect makeup. I love the ethics of the brand, super small (I think it's a 3 person team) which is always nice to support, and I've been so thrilled with the quality; my skin hungers for pigment apparently, so things fade so quickly it's disheartening, but my salt new york lip & cheek (as a blush) last so well on me.

In regards to LC shimmers, the ones they brought out before the Dreamsign palette are imo inferior to those they have released since said collection. The mattes are really nice but the lighter ones have to be packed and blended at the edges or they will disappear from my eyes. CS is bomb as well!

I had that conversation with you about Em cinnamon...but went to the site and saw no singles listed so assumed the singles line was discontinued. I will look back later and hope they come back!

I think they were sold out of a lot of them. I figure it's a material issue, as they are in Canada (I think Ontario) and there have been heavy restrictions there.

I personally don't like the Sugarpill formula. I think it could be more finely milled, because I feel it's too thick. They have some shades that are matte with some glittery particules, that in my opinion are the worse (like the famous buttercupcake yellow, that everyone back in the day said it was the best, but I feel it was because there wasn't that many options). The ones without the glittery particules are better but they don't tell you which one is each.

Another Canadian indie brand that’s starting to make a scene is ShinebySD, they are out of Nova Scotia, and a BOW brand. I ordered some more Clionadh during their recent sale, hoping their shipping time will be shorter, as they have committed to. I’ve purchased Devinah before, but with no border crossing, I won’t likely purchase again for awhile. I have the original trio of Kaleidos, and enjoy those, would love that sushi city palette (but could probably dupe it with my singles). What is that stunning lippie colour you’re wearing today?

Midas cosmetics I'm pretty sure is a private label company. Not that that's the worst thing in the world but at this point if I'm bringing new stuff into my collection I want it to be unique. Not to mention they're overpriced

I found an article written by the owner of Midas that says they’re technically private label but it’s not so cut and dry (there’s different versions of private labeling) - she goes into detail explaining what private labels mean and said that Midas doesn’t make the formulas, they just get to choose color stories and packaging and whatnot. I asked clionadh cosmetics on instagram, what is the purpose of all the advertisement if nothing ever is available on their website. They replied that they they support the creators that supported them. To me that was a polite f off. I will never buy from them.
