Nice pairing. That Tamdhu Batch Strength is definitely a big, sweet dram. Cheers!

Agreed, and Indri here is oaky and savory. Great contrast.

Just received my bottle of Indri Drú today, bought solely on your tasting notes, and as a(nother) early christmasgift for myself. (But we seem to share the same good taste in whisky, so I am not that worried. 😀) There is a week-long holiday coming up for me, so I am thinking of doing a comparison with a unopened bottle of Paul John, or some Japanese bottles . No matter what, the Indri does have a beautiful box presentation, and a lovely natural color. Speaking of presentation, and totally off topic: I love your logo at 1:20, put in on black t-shirt, and I'll be happy to buy one! Off to see your latest video with HP and Ardbeg Corry now, with a pour of Kilchoman in the glencairn. Greetings from Denmark 🙂

@rubberbottom Thanks for noticing the new logo! I want to do a couple touch ups, but a fun redo of the original. I hope you enjoy the Dru. That was an early thought, and certainly oaky. That said, there's so much flavour in there to pull out. Cheers to the holiday coning up!

Nice “samples“ review, Jon. So you finally got the etched/carved wooden logo. I really like it. So classy. Cheers!

I went through a Tamdhu batch 006 last year, and it was one of my favorites for sure. Indri Trini is pretty nice, but I need to get my hands on that Dru cs!

Hello Jon... can we get a current tour of what's on your shelves? I love those videos.
@WhiskyNeighbour2 ай бұрын
@danielmcevoy976 I will try. I don't think I ever have, but should. That said, aside from old ones staying around, I tend to buy and open, so not too many surprises in the closet 😀

Nice episode. I enjoyed the Indri Trini. looking forward to the Dru. And the Tamdhu B/S has been an auto buy for a couple of batches now. Cheers!

Great to see your enthusiasm for these two Jon. I have an unopened Indri Dru but not the Tamdhu. I need a good excuse to get the Dru open, and I have only seen very positive reviews. I really like the idea that great whisky is coming from places like India, it will bring new flavour profiles and I would hope will also create competitive momentum amongst distillers around the world.

@michaelwood3203 I agree, more places making quality releases helps everyone refine and improve. This one has started really well!

I still haven't had Indian whisky. Was hoping to get hold of the Indri Trini, but it never turned up here. I've been intrigued by reviews I've heard, because of the accelerated maturation. Heading to Toronto next month for another book fair, so we'll likely hit Allen's on the Danforth. If they've got it on their list I'll give it a try. And Tamdhu just sounds tasty. I'd rather invest in a cask strength release if the opportunity arises. The new 'cut' is lookin good! Cheers Jon 🥃🥃 Marian 🇨🇦

Both of these are tasty, really tasty! For today, I am more surprised by the Indri. It is rich, thick, oaky and yet thick fruit on the nose. For ex-Bourbon the colour really is insane too. As for the 'cut', it is too short, but hair grows and I'm happy to not care for a few weeks! Cheers!

Have you tried the Tamdu 1963 50 yr bottling??that's quite a spectacular pour and multi layers of fruit,spice surprisingly tame on the wood influence.
@WhiskyNeighbour2 ай бұрын
@Maltmeister1 Sadly, no, I have only had the Trini and now the Dru. Hopefully, more will show up here. That said, I imagine the 50 year would be out of my price range! Awesome to hear how good it is.

Surprisingly there is no indigenous word for ‘Cheers’ in India as there is no historical culture of toasting, people generally say ‘Cheers’ or ‘Salud’. But we do dip our fingers and flick a few drops away (or simply pour a few drops on the ground) as a gesture to offer the beverage to our ancestors and gods once before taking a sip, as a form of spiritual respect.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I appreciate the cultural insight. Cheers!
