My understanding of battle rapping is that the idea is to make them look bad with disses, not just big yourself up (unless you then use that as a way to attack them)... But then my understanding of it probably isn't great... I dunno... Still enjoy it, but yeah... Oh well lol Not really a big deal.

The best thing about this episode of ERB is that it's really subtly Everyone vs Michael Bay. Literally every Director had a line taking a shot at Bay before he showed up.

My takeaway from the battle. "Genius is a powerful word, but there's no reason to use it 'less you're talking about the Kubrick, then there's really nothing to it." Is one of my favourite lines in any ERB.

This is a fav of mine. Its all over the place. Qt is my personal fav irl. Every movie from him bangs. I think (tho i hate most his stuff) that Bay coming in dropping explosions which hes known for thinking "haters gonna hate hate hate" while he collects stacks of money prob wins the battle. Spielberg wins as best ever tho. And yea part is def John Williams as that man is one of my two greatest along w Hans Zimmer so that line kept Spielberg from winning. Hitchcock mighta had the best wordplay and "dancing". Kubrick def displayed the genius theme and 127 lines etc but sadly my least fav Bay won imo even tho QT did do a great job of knocking out 2 of them.

Not sure as i did enjoy it and think it needs a slightly higher score on say imdb, maybe a 7.5 or so. You have Cruise and Dakota in it so there are pluses there but they also seemed to push explosions and fx too much. A lot of ppl love that hence how fast n the furious is now racing on the rings of saturn n crap. I prefer a story more and although it does have a story i feel the books or book did way better. Its been forever tho and i did like how the movie ended. I agree id def rate it higher but not to the great category. The Rock on the other hand is a favorite of mine. Wish we could get that Bay back lol

It's a pretty uninspired entry in the glut of post-9/11 disaster porn movies. On its own it's fairly inoffensive, if boring, but as part of the trends at the time it was just more cookie cutter mass produced garbage.

it's also worth noting that moving it to modern day required quite a bit of change of pass to anyone who was trying to compare it to the novel since the aliens in the book could be taking down by WW era weapons so they had to be pretty much completely remade to give the same sense of threat that came from that radio broadcast played as a joke all those years ago.

I hated it for a legitimate reason, that girl screamed through half the movie ! Yes I know it was because her character was scared but ffs shut up I'm trying to watch a movie ! By the second half of the movie I needed a painkiller and a lay down , just couldn't enjoy it , leave her home next time 👎👎

It's kinda unfair, but I think I'd have to say Tarantino had the best attack and flex combination and put in digs against everyone except Kubrick, although maybe his digs weren't as hard as some others... I don't think anyone really dissed Tarantino properly though... Both Hitchcock and Spielberg got in good hits against each other, but I dunno... Kubrick had some reasonable disses, but he kinda seemed a bit more flexy... Michael Bay was pretty much all flex, but got hit indirectly by everyone, so he seems like a joke to me... Oh well...
