I've only been a race fan a few years, but I've had this attitude since I was in college. My college needed another parking lot, the neighbors across the street complained that they didn't want to look at a parking lot. An extra $20,000 (1990 dollars) in landscaping had to be added to hide the parking lot from the neighbors. The school is currently getting bulldozed along with that parking lot .. I think the ONLY residents near the track that should have any complaint (and therefore any legal arguments) are those who've lived there since BEFORE the track was built. For everyone else, WTF did you think would happen?!??!? You moved near a racetrack!!?!! These are the same idiots who buy a cheaper house near an airport and complain about the sound of planes taking off and landing. There's a reason that house was not as expensive as a similar one in an area not on a flight path/by a racetrack.!!:!!

The 'I don't want that in my backyard' issue with property owners in the US is stupid. You get the same crap in Downtown districts that revitalized due to getting a nightlife, they build condos due to it being a trendy place, and then the condo owners butch about the noise.

They’ve tracked the complaints to literally one guy that hides behind vaguely named “coalitions” to sound like half of California is behind this. He’s been trying to shut the track down for decades.
@tainmere5 ай бұрын
Afaik the issue wasn’t the racetrack itself, it was that the overall amount of racing (particularly race days) went up from 21 to 23 with further increases possible, and they wanted that to be reigned in a bit. From my understanding shutting down the racetrack wasn’t something desired, just bringing it back prior usage levels.

it's funny because of how wrong it is, Indycars are known for how tough they are. Unlike F1, a tap with the front wing won't explode it. People have finished a race before with half a wing just dragging on the tarmac, just because of how structurally stable the body of the cars are.
@Dani-it5sy5 ай бұрын
Be honest. Had it not been for one man that is just from another planet the new rules of F1 would have done their job excellently. Ended Mercs dominance and if you think away Max, so basically you look at the fight for 2nd as if it was 1st. What an incredibly unpredictable seasons we have had. Going into a race weekend there are 8-9 contenders for 2nd place. Max really did spoil the party. The FIA had it right for once in their entire existence.
