Just a heads up. If you have a phone with OIS (optic image stabilization) as most modern phones do, if you use a fixed mount like this it will eventually ruin the camera. Phone manufacturers have caught onto this and will deny warranty coverage if you say you own a motorcycle. I purchased an all metal mount recently as well but it has a different design and also incorporates a vibration dampener on the the back to help prevent damage to the camera.

I ran a usb cable from the front socket through the bike to under the pillion seat. Then I run a short stretchy cable from here to my phone that I place in a tail bag. I use an elasticated strap around my phone to stop vibration knocking the connection off. Much better not having the phone in front of me when the apple car play does everything I need

Does it have vibration protection so the camera will survive?
@AlbesADV2 жыл бұрын
Not really, there is a rubber ring between the handlebars and the clamp but is more for friction than anything else

How factual is the vibration > broken camera thing? Any 3rd party tests? It’s ridiculous that all these companies are coming up with proprietary cases and mounting systems that cost hundreds and you have to use their case too.
