crazy amount of detail and modelling for 5 days of work. Did you already have models that you then scattered around or how did you manage to get it up and detailed so fast?

I didnt do modeling for this one. I bought a Kitbash3D kit called "soviet blocks". however this is not the result of just placing those models. Its a technique called kitbashing. I will make a tutorial for this shot to show how I achieved that look.

use proxies instead of full geo. never had problems with crashing

@Steffen Hampel I don't want to sound like a complete noob I only have a few years of experience and I'm mainly an animator... do you mind explaining what proxies are ?

@@Mrsmifff so a proxy is basicly a compressed version of the mesh. lets say you have a building with 1000 seperate pieces and overall 800k polys. a proxy now is one mesh with only 10k proxys and is light in the viewport. But when you render it will render the real mesh with the 800k polys :) Im using Vray. just google VrayProxy :)
