"The name of the game" is an extraordinary song by ABBA, has many peculiarities: 1) I think it's the first in which each of the girls sings a verse as lead voice 2) the official video was recorded at the blonde Agnetha & blonde Björn's home, because Agnetha was very late in her second pregnancy (that's why maybe she's sitting and cared for in the picture) 3) "The name of the game" was released in October 1977, two month before "ABBA The Album" and the movie "ABBA The Movie" ; It was a bold gamble from ABBA, it opened their horizons and spread beyond pop. The story behind this song is that she is actually talking to a psychiatrist ! In the video from ABBA The Movie it shows a scene with Agnetha sitting on a psychiatrists couch, with the 'reporter' from the movie as the psychiatrist LOL

That game is called 'LUDO'. This song is wonderful... Agnetha🩷 and Frida❤ alternate lead vocals. The backing vocals, the guitar, bass guitar, the synthz... all works perfect👌! The video is so good and so simple at the time (at Agnetha's house, with her pregnant, waiting with Björn for their second child). Amazing job! Great video... See you soon, Lee. This was when the group were not only at their height but at their happiest. The Album was at number one. They had released a movie based on their Australia concerts the year before so no major touring. The boys were writing furiously for the next album the more discosounding Voulez-Vous. Benny and Anni-frid had finally got married and Agnetha was expecting her and Bjorns second child hence she is sitting down the entire video. Fast forward 2 years and divorce was happening for Agnetha and Bjorn and the other couple a year later.
