How bad is the chatter on the lightweight aluminum flywheel? I have been looking at different clutch and flywheel kits for my G and haven't quite made a decision. I have read a little on SouthBend kits and was looking for your opinion whenever you can. Thanks! Looking forward to more videos

How long did it take you to install your clutch and its associated parts? I'm going to need to replace my CSC so I'm checking now which units I'm going with and costs as well. I've recently found your channel and have been watching a lot of your videos. I also have a G37s sedan so its been very helpful.

Hello Alex, Great DIY video. I need to tackle this job on my 2012 G37 IPL. Clutch sticking to floor and reservoir bone dry. It seems you did this all on your own? if so how many hours did it take you to complete the job. I dont track my car its my daily, would you recommend the ZSpeed CSC delete or just the HD CSC unit? My G went 89,347 before the CSC went out.

It's a decent amount. Its definitely time consuming if you only have jack stands, but totally doable. Third time I've done it like this (not all on the G).

Hey Brother Quick Question Did You Have To Jack The Car Up Stupid High To Take Transmission Off Mine Is Automatic And I Need To Change Torque Converter I Was Told To Get 2x4 Wood And Make Them Stack To 12 Inches Thru Wood Cribbing But Seeing This I Might Just Throw My Jack's Under It And Put It On Highest Notch For Clearance

So, I had the unpleasant experience of having to come behind some inept slacker of a mechanic that torqued the transmission bolts (17mm) with a impact tool or just really cranked on them. Almost rounded off the top two bolts trying to get them out. Plus, two of the 14mm were missing on the bottom. The person must have lost them or just failed to put them back. This is the reason I work on my own vehicles. You just can't trust a person who has no ownership of a vehicle, regardless if they are getting paid. Most shops have X amount of time to do whatever task they are assigned for the day and if they go over, the shop loses money (based on their spreadsheet tables). Most of the mechanics out there are not getting paid to do quality work, they are getting paid to successfully complete the task as fast as possible. Things like over-torqued bolts and missing bolts don't matter to them as long as the vehicle functions afterwards. Great vids, they helped me a lot!

Hi Alex... I just wanted to give you a heads up on your finishing up video. When you finished your tranny & Started up the G37. Did you notice a quick 1 second squeal noise like a loose belt. FYI. I've had that noise on my 370Z most of the winter. I really didn't hear that squealing noise when it's warm outside. Come to find out it's not a belt. it's actually your starter. Soon, it's going to stop working. I put in a new starter and the noise went away immediately. I could be wrong just wanted to share some info I had with that NOISE on my Z

My g37 does the same thing, when sitting for more than a day. Never thought it would be the starter.

Did any 1 find out if that sound is the starter or not cause mines do it to only when i sits for a few days.

Would love to see a results video curious to see how the new setup feels. I might be going this on my G soon I'm noticing my release point is waaay down low when the car sits for a few days and I drive it, it corrects itself after about 10 min of driving but I've never really encountered this much before.

Hey guys, so I bought competition clutch and flywheel for my 2012 G. Comparing the old stock and new flywheel, they seem to be different. The crankshaft teeth seem a bit different and the with of the new flywheel is less than the old one. Should there be any issues with new flywheel being a bit different? Thanks.

Man.. I’m struggling very hard getting the transmission to line up back to the engine. I’m guessing this process is slightly different for the coupe... been trying this for three days now.
@jdub76513 жыл бұрын
Did u get it? I’m tackling this job on a coupe next week
@RzVids3 жыл бұрын
@@jdub7651 Not yet. The input shaft is just not clearing the pilot bearing. It’s hitting around it. It’s a tight space when you lift it up not much room to wiggle it around. I’m thinking of buying a better but more expensive adjustable transmission jack because the one I’m using now is terrible. No adjustability at all it just goes up so basically I’m trying to wiggle it around trying to get it in. Literally everything else was pretty straightforward and quick tbh but I wasn’t expecting this part to be so challenging..
@jdub76513 жыл бұрын
@@RzVids damn hope you figure it out I might consider buying a transmission jack then
@RzVids3 жыл бұрын
@@jdub7651 You will 100% need a transmission jack with a strap. Not even joking it weighs like 180 lbs. I wouldn’t try to lift it with regular floor jack because when you have it in the air... believe me it won’t just go in like you see in this video... you might shift the transmission on it’s side by wiggling it. Without a large surface area that a tranny jack has with a suitable strap down you could seriously hurt yourself or damage it if it ends up falling. I’ll be buying another transmission jack this weekend to see if that makes a difference.

sal v no that’s actually the power steering pump. My own does the same thing once parked for a couple days.
@salv87506 жыл бұрын
Do you know the exact reason why the pump does that? My car does it when I started sometimes in hot weather, when it’s a cold start in winter or when it’s just cold it doesn’t do it
