Breathing is a necessity of life that usually occurs without much thought. We take 20,000 breaths a day, including while we are asleep. How many of those breaths are we conscious of?
Generally, we don’t need to be conscious of each of those breaths as our body does a wonderful job of breathing for us. However, by consciously paying attention to our breathing, we can help ourselves to return to the peaceful and restful state of mind and remain focused on the present moment. 💛
There are many breathing exercises that we can choose from to fit our preferences and circumstances. Breathing exercises don’t have to take a lot of time out of our day. It’s just about setting aside time to pay attention to our breathing and focusing on the present moment. 💚
The Infinity (Lazy 8) Breathing technique involves tracing an infinity horizontal sign with your finger while breathing. The goal is to breathe continuously and quietly with no pause between inhales and exhales. The Infinity Breathing helps with enhancing concentration and reducing stress.
Instructions:
Starting from the center of the horizontal figure 8 and tracing an infinity sign with your index finger on your left hand, breathe in as you move your finger right and breathe out as you move your finger left.
You can then switch to your right index finger or use both index fingers to trace the infinity sign.
