Is there not some kind of weird logic at play here, in which the "best" candidate is always the one who promises the most of something..........

This very issue has been bugging me for the last several weeks. Mainly because Trump shouldn’t have any more than about 10% of the vote. But yet here we are in what seems like a close race. The Trump voters are voting for an R. That’s it! They are voting for a letter in the alphabet. Nothing more. You would be waisting your time, trying to explain anything to them. They couldn’t even keep their attention span focused long enough to make any headway with them.
