I, and I’m sure many others, didn’t even realized I was being stalked. My brain didn’t want to use that word for some reason at the time. He was my neighbor and I thought he just really liked being outside or something. It took my best friend to point out how creepy he was being every time she’d visit my house for me to finally realize. I had to move because of it. The cops didn’t help, his wife helped a little, and my family thought I was being crazy until my little brother saw him taking photos of me. It’s awful, the anxiety of not knowing if you’re being watched at all times is awful, especially if you’re from a small community

My stalker after getting out of jail placed a tracker on my car then hit me head first one purpose as i was driving to work, he’s now in jail for attempted murder and I suffered a minor skull fracture, my friend who was in the passenger seat has to be lifeflighted for emergency brain surgery, she now refuses to speak to me, obviously it’s traumatic and i think she’s scared something like that will happen again. As someone who plans to work with marketing in the future, I get her idea-pretend to receive things from "Teddy" so people, once buying the products, would also feel "gifted" by this character she created. The problem was to pretend NOT TO KNOW what was going on, she could totally have just been like "Hey, I just made a friend and I'm really excited to present them to you, guys. They'll take a few days to arrive but, until then, why not check the gifts they left for me?" And, as simple as that, it wouldn't be THAT creepy. More like a Hello Kitty type of vibe. Deciding to make it look like she was being stalked ON PURPOSE is sick knowing that there are other ways of announcing the merch.

Hi! I'm @selmaicans who commented on her posts, I am so glad you're commenting on this because normalizing/romanticizing stalking is not ok and definitely not lighthearted or cute. I was genuinely concerned for her wellbeing and commented as nicely as possible on her posts because I saw that the more confrontational comments were getting deleted, and her younger audience are attacking everyone for criticizing her. I've never been stalked but I am able to realize how scary it is based on the stories we've all seen online about it, many victims end up dead or extremely hurt. She is a business & marketing student, I find it so bizarre that this was the marketing strategy she came up with when she literally studies this full time at university. It's really disappointing considering her audience is younger, this is such a harmful thing to normalize to them, they don't understand the gravity of stalking and will think even less of it now. I really hope this doesn't lead to her getting an actual stalker after how relaxed she reacted to the fake one. Also the fact she hasn't publicly apologized, she posted on her story that she's delaying the merch launch to "spend some time with her family and think", but other than that it's literally just her reply to my comment. I seriously hope she creates an actual post apologizing and donates some of the profit she'll make to a stalking related charity for example, I think it's possible for her to learn from this and recover, but it would be seriously messed up if she earns money off of this without giving anything back to the victims who were suffered because of her actions.

He knocked on every door and window of my house to see if I’d look at all hours the day, tied a zip tie around the car door handle where I sat to mark me as vulnerable, and sat outside my house the entire time. Nothing was ever done about this, even though the same day he tried to kidnap me he attempted to nab another girl a few streets away but the cops ruled it out because there was “no sign of suspicious activity”. Ever since then, I’ve been very paranoid and struggle to do things like going out in public by myself, opening my blinds/curtains, and trusting others because I’m paranoid they have anterior motives. Honestly? It was not until one of my best friend experienced a messy breakup that I realized just how normalized cyberstalking is when she began looking at the material of her ex and messaging him. I love her, but to be honest at the time I was confused. She said she was over him and then acted like this, so I asked her why did she act this way. She’s a good person, and one that eventually patched things up with her ex and they both have a good relationship, and that is what is scary is not it? Cyberstalking is so normalized that normal people do not see it as not only wrong, but unhealthy.

I work in criminal law, and let me tell you, being a stalker's target is not flattering, cute, or funny. What I've noticed is that none of them have a diagnosable mental illness, but they are definitely not right in the head. They are broken ppl. I had one victim who has been stalked by his ex-girlfriend for over 7 years. And even after spending almost a year in jail, the second she got out, it started again. She messages him, his mom, his wife, his business, sends emails. Even after he changed his number, she somehow got it again. And it's constant. I have another victim who was stalked for several years because the stalker was jealous that his target got the romantic attention of someone he liked. He didn't stop until the victim finally pressed charges. The victim was black and every single one of the stalker's messages had racial slurs and threats to him and his family. Even after the victim changed his number, somehow the stalker got his new number. I had another victim who was being stalked by her ex-husband. I had another victim being stalked by her ex-boyfriend trying to get back with her. Every time, the messaging is constant, and no matter how many times the victim blocks them, it doesn't matter, because the stalker uses fake phone numbers and create anonymous and burner accounts. And because they use those methods, stalking cases are challenging to prove. The stalking cases always make me sad because it's not a singular incident. It's constant harassment that affects the victims lives, and there's very little to be done about it.

what really gets to me is how unnecessary this whole framing was? like she mentions in the post at 17:35, "mysterious gift giver" isn't just less insensitive, it makes more sense. just say one of your friends has been doing this and then reveal at the end that the 'friend' is teddy. you don't have to justify keeping a gift from your friend bc that's just a normal thing to do (unlike a stalker), you don't have to justify talking about this publicly since it's just your friend (also unlike a stalker), and you don't make people worry about you for no good reason. it's crazy that this was the idea she went with instead.

Seconding, it’s illegal but as in many places the police frequently don’t do anything

As a social worker every time someone does crap like this it validates creeps and leads to victims not being believed. This girl needs help if she thought this was funny or cute like therapy now. I'm so happy she has no idea just how terrifying and horrifying having a stalker can be but I think she needs to be educated which is interesting since all of her content revolves around school. Thank you professor I promise not to stalk anyone.

As someone who had a stalker, not even an extreme one, it made me feel unsafe in my own home its not cute

If this girl had an ounce of common sense she could’ve based her marketing on a secret admirer since it’s a school girl theme and surround it around more appropriate and consensual storytelling. Like the better option was so close but she chose stalker some how……she fumbled horribly by being unintelligent.

I have been a regular viewer of daisy for almost 4 years now, and this is the first im ever hearing of this (not an instagram user). honestly the way she kept lying to her fans is literally diabolical and I am never going to see her or her vlogs the same..

Being stalked is traumatizing and life ruining. Seriously not cute. It’s barely taken seriously by institutions and it’s hard to stay safe from obsessive creepy manipulative people. So ummm.. what the f.
@rinrunrang2 ай бұрын
this is insane behavior, my friend was stalked in university and the guy would literally follow her to her classes, anywhere off campus. she lived in a dorm and had to start closing the blinds in the common area because he would look in. getting stalked is so scary, and after the fact you never feel safe even after they've been dealt with. some people are so content-pilled they think anything is content and gets clicks.

Stalking is definitely a crime in Canada. This girl is insane and I can't understand why her followers were saying things like fake stalking is "a bit" insensitive. Come on!

I'm going to be blunt she basically made a conscious choice to emotionally manipulate her audience/fans for money, and it's terrible she has that kind of moralless behavior at a young age since she's 21. Even when I was 21 I wasn't doing shit like this and knew it was wrong especially since I'd already had friends who were victims of stalking Faking you're in a dangerous situation just to get sympathy out of others, seeing no problem with it, and thinking everyone else will be accepting and understanding once you reveal the lie and then will spend money on your products is heartless. I hope she learns from this in some way. Although considering her profession as an influencer is built on ppl getting ppl to like her and trying to get as much money out of them as possible I don't see her having much incentive to change unless ppl actually pressure her to do so and to learn a lesson from this. But the important thing is we shouldn't let ppl minimalize and normalize this behavior. This isn't just oh no another influencer doing something wrong. We should remember how many ppl of marginalized genders are harmed and killed by stalkers and situations like this aren't a joke and ppl who make light of that for profit shouldn't be let off the hook I'm pretty sure her fans saying this is good marketing are just as young and impressionable as she is. And they grew up in a social media environment where behavior like this is normal and everything we do is able to be commodified for fame and money. But no they need to learn shit like this isn’t normal or ok and there's more important things in life to prioritize

It seems like she tried to do a K-pop-esque brand drop but took it too far💀 There were probably better ways to hint it and reveal without making it too realistic and worrying everyone.

Idk man the fact that she continued the narrative for a WHILE is genuinely unsettling. She had so many moments in her real life to think twice and say, “this is inappropriate, this will be bad for me in the long run, being a liar for money is against my morals, etc” but no…only until it possibly stopped her income coming in did she start to apologize. Mistakes you make in the moment and learn from is one thing, but this….

I’m so disappointed at her :(. I’m a victim of stalking. Had a guy who was obsessed with Korean girls and he once followed me to my car. I had to have my friends walk with me at campus, and a new guy just sniffed me and tried to find me cuz “I smell good.”
