This is the biggest piece of infrastructure change that the game has and will likely ever see, there are bound to be issues with it. I don't get how people can get excited for promised features anymore. The list of abandoned features they promised but never added is huge, not to mention the idea that any of this would even work as they describe or even arrive within 2 years is wild. Sometimes it seems people start to confuse SC with what it is, with what it can be. And they talk about what it can be as if that's really here now, it's so strange. Hacking, long range scans, all this stuff has been spoken about for years. Hell hacking and data running ships and consoles exist, they just don't do anything in game. It's not news, it's just talk.

CIG is being unbelievably stupid forcing multiplayer on the bigger ships with the vast majority being solo players... Players want full control of weapons and turrets on all ships...or at least the ability to achieve it by accomplishments, purchasing AI, or purchasing MPCs to man ship turrets... Solo players would then purchase more of the larger ships that they otherwise would not buy because they don't want to deal with having to have other players to use it... Given CIG's greed, it doesn't make any sense to force artificial multiplayer on any ship... 💥

I’m confused with people’s frustration with CIG, isn’t this build in an alpha stage? There should be an expectation of bugs, glitches, features that do break the game and improper mechanics… so that the developers can fix and enhance the experience upon beta and release… To me this is a positive from a long term perspective. It is honestly a breath of fresh air that a game studio is trying something new and innovating. If history serves as a barometer of creativity in science, industrial, and media/entertainment... advances in those segments typically come from people or groups of people who are willing to work outside the box. This usually results in mistakes on a grand scale... but for those willing to wait and continue through with their goal the results more than likely change the entire industry. We are living in that moment. It isn't supposed to be ideal, or cater to your wants and desires, but utilize you as a test for what they are trying to accomplish. People should be Happy CIG is letting them see under the hood and offer feedback... life becomes a lot easier and more exciting when you realize it's not about you (your broken electronic elevators). I disagree. The elevators just elevate far too much & as for planets it’s just obvious they’ve accidentally used flat Earth physics models. That’s the only reason they don’t work.

Imagine the numbers of amazing indies projects that can be made with that much money and that much time investment... That's pretty sad honestly. So many things could be made... But no, people prefer to invest hundreds of dollards and hundreds of hours in this scam... Trying for hours to take an elevator that do not work, then the ship explode by clipping on the ground when the door is open, then it suddendly disappear in flight,... Then they buy an other ship and start again... Look, I’ve backed Star Citizen for way too long, and at this point, I’m just exhausted. Yeah, it’s ambitious. Yeah, it’s beautiful. But after all these years, it’s still a buggy, unfinished mess. I’ve sunk too much money and patience into this thing, and while there are flashes of brilliance, the constant delays, broken promises, and shameless monetization have worn me down. Also, can we talk about the lifts? Because I swear they have a personal vendetta against me. Either they don’t show up, they eat me alive, or they just drop me into the void like some kind of cruel space god. I still want to believe in the dream, but at this point, I’d just like to see the game finished before I need a mobility scooter in real life.

The only thing overloaded is my nerves. The game is as bad as 3.18 release at the moment and i really do not recommend it to anyone. The most basic mechanics such as elevators, hangars or simply standing on anything without falling through the floor are not working. How on earth did they manage to go severely backwards in development stage? I knew that their 'Jesus' server tech would not save them, i was right.

How about a bell hop, an AI in the game who opens the elevator for you so... lol. How about putting spawn points in your hanger? it doesnt fix the elevator issue but it allows a work around because lets face it.. elevators have been broken for years. and they will never fix them permanently. but if we can atleast fly around it wouldnt be as bad.

This game is so broken right now, I've completed about two missions in the past 7 days. Truly not even interested in hearing about features, until he can fix the basic fundamentals of the game. My friend and I spent 4 hours just trying to be able to share missions with each other so we could play together. That was last night. This game is a heaping pile of crap.

Just a question don't get offended was his rank high enough to share said missions. Bounty merc and cargo missions are locked behind rep. In order to share even basic missions both players need to complete at least certification missions. For bounties you need to be certified in eatch system for different levels, lile vlrts. For merc missions you need to complete certification missions as well but only needs to be done once instead of eatch level.

@kamilm6616 Yes, we were. I think tonight, we're going to try going to another system, and have the certs done in those systems, see if it changes things. We can't figure it out, what ends up happening is we actually group up, and then the server refuses to put us on the same shard. Is what it feels like. We can't see each other, we can't see each other on the map, we can't see each other in quantum jump, we can't see each other or share missions in any way. And it's been like that on and off for about a week. Sometimes we can see each other, sometimes we can't. But sharing missions is becoming harder and harder.

whit npc i hope the density and traffic varies between day and night and when there is a event etc its flooding whit npc and lots of transport missions to and from the area. its wery important to have a living ingaging and innteresting station npc life now when no elevators gonna work for years waiting for the elevator reworks. so we gonna be in stations a loot

If they lose the investors they are out of money within a quarter according to their own financial reports. They can not afford to have gamers/investors leave the game for half a year or even longer. When you market a game as a game you better deliver a game and not stop free flight events.

By definition we do not buy a finished product but we enable the creator/inventor/developer to work on an idea. That was the main selling point that crowd funding would guarantee an independent development as no publisher can interfere with the plans of the developer. Turns out that at a certain point it is pretty good to have an external force to supervise the developer - especially when you have a chief executive officer who is infamous for being unable to keep a development on focus. Edit: interesting that you mentioned December and January but ignored the disaster of November. Beside ignoring inflation when comparing numbers from 2024 with former years. Also note the dramatic decrease in new backers who are the major source for revenues in their first one or two years. We have reached the peak revenue and the full cost effect of the growth phase from 2022/23 will come into effect now (running costs from built up infrastructure and end of incentives from City of Manchester). For sure a reason why they fired 150+ people in 2024 and why the financial report 2024 hasn’t been published yet beside the fact that publishing date would have been Jan 1 2025.

as to what this game already is, no match is out there. no one else is making this. without star citizen we get shorcuts and loading screens, breaking all aspects of realism. so to be fair, there's a reason SC is the only one. and it shows, new technologies must be invented to tackle stability. like koenisegg to make a car like that they needed to make their own engine, transmission, everything to tackle the stress of all the parts under tension. and i feel like its like that in this game, but the problem is they need to fail alot more to come to the solution which koenisegg ofc can simulate before trying to make it. with all that said, SC is not going backwards, its going forwards but slow. theres a limit to whats possible with the tech we have today. i cross my fingers for AI being the solution for identify and surveil the bugs, as to all games bugs take time to fix, and in multiplayer games with no apparent reason, you fix one bug and 4 others pop up. as said by fallout director to the question as why he never made multiplayer games.
