Do YOU ever use things found around the house for texture or tools in YOUR work? I'd love to know. Share in the comments!! Thanks for popping by to watch today! We worked so hard to bring you this fun collaboration. Hope you enjoyed it! Be sure to check out Keren's and Tiffany's video. They are cool! 😃😀🎨

Oh my gosh I love this video! Thank you for posting. I have a pile of these exact items. I just used the onion bag a few days ago and loved how it turned out. I have at least 4 different bubble wrap textures. One has large square bubbles, another are tiny little bubbles. I have separated corrugated cardboard to get the ridges and bits of paper exposed. I am so looking forward to your video on creating coasters. Thanks again.

The thing I love about you three collaborators is that it's ALL about the ART; not about glossy fingernails, or about what supplies you have, or how vast your studio is, that stuff bores me. When I go to an art channel I want to see and hear about the art. I want to see the creations from beginning to end; some art channels spend the whole video on talking about what they've got in the way of accessories, whilst making sure their fingernails get constant exposure throughout the video, ad infinitum. It's a breath of fresh air to have found your channels (I stumbled upon the incredibly easy to learn from, Keren first, which led me to Tiffany, and then to you), and to actually learn from you three. Thank you for sharing this lovely video. :)

Those leaves are heaven. I bring them back from my childhood home. From a big old tree that’s older than me , and I’m 66 . 😂 I still have memories of meeting this tree when I moved to the property at the age of around 5.its a camphor laurel and the leaves smell divine even when they turn brown. TFS , this video is amazing .

@@IngridBlackburn Like you, I've also used leaves, but some other things I've used are the end of a toilet paper roll, some jewelry chain, the plastic liner from a box of chocolates, the bristles of a well-used, worn out stencil brush, some scrunched up tin foil...anything with an interesting texture, or capable of impressing an interesting design, like some kitchen tools. I'm really trying to make an effort to loosen up with my work, and stop trying to be so perfect and precise. I think true art happens when you get out of the way, instead of trying to force it. The artists I admire are very intuitive, and show an amazing ability to go with the flow. I want to move in that direction. One artist who blows me away, I found here on KZbin, Millie Gift Smith. You couldn't get much looser than Millie, she turns her canvas sideways, upside down and her results always amaze me. Some of us get more careful as we get older...not Millie! Her art is fearless. If you'd like to check her out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZoOqinxolJZmqdk

@@jas8815 Thanks for that, I had never seen that channel before. I'm with you - anything that can help me to create depth and texture, I'm in. Liner from Chocolates...interesting. I wholeheartedly agree on staying loose, and getting out of your own way. Mixed media has helped me to let go of the control, accept that it's a journey and sometimes bumps and unexpected things are magical and take you into a fun, exciting direction. At its core, it's a lesson - an opportunity to learn more. Thanks for sharing all that! 😘😃🎨

Hey Ingrid, I'm a fan of Keren's and I LOVE art, nature, recycling and your three-way collab!!! Your voice, and technique are so relaxing and elegant. Is it possible to do this gel plate technique on fabrics and wax? Because my crafting superpowers are pillows, quilts and candles. It would be awesome if I could press the fabric squares and roll the candle sides on the gel plate. Your color choices were exquisite and I fell head over heels for the botanical supplies and results. I have similar botanicals available. Subscribed, liked and clicked notifications. I look forward to binge watching your archives and waiting for the next posts. Happy holidays and lotsa love from Louisiana!

Kerry/Inkhill Revival linked you. Printmaking was my major in art at college (many moons ago). You would love collagraphy. You build a collage with texture, image, and composition in mind, ink it up and run through the press. You get serendipitous marks as well as planned and the textures and objects are impressed into the paper leaving the print embossed.

@@IngridBlackburn Yes, I do mix them quite a bit. I used to keep the card making and mixed media firmly in their own lanes, saving my mixed media for ATCs (which I still love) and the occasional journal page. Now they cross the boundaries both ways - I always try to include a little stamping on my ATCs and in many of my journal pages. I started out as a stamper, and still love it. I too have so many things, and too many that I don't use at all. Other than replenishing basic supplies that I use, I am dedicated to using what I already have this year. I am so happy that some of my favorite youtubers are doing the same, it's inspiring. I am so excieted to be journeying along with you all.

Love the leaf prints, Ingrid. Very cool!! What did you use for the paper on top of the white paint? What weight? Was it a lightweight cardstock or just a copy paper or something in-between? Happy New Year, BTW!

Hi Cindy! Happy New year!! I have it linked in the description. I use Neenah Exact - a lightweight cardstock and deli paper. Thanks for watching. 😀😀🎨

YOU made my day! I don't think anyone understands HOW HARD it is to do that....lol. I've spent countless hours honing that skill. And still have SO MUCH to learn. It's become an art project in itself. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! 😘😃🎨

So pretty, what poundage of paper did you use? I need to get out my geli plate again and try these techniques.

Hi!! I hope this helps....I have a supply list in the description so people don't get confused. Cause I use Neenah Exact - 110 pound. But it's not their Solar Crest - that I use for card bases, the Exact is much thinner and cost effective. SO PERFECT for gel printing. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!! 😃😃🎨

@@IngridBlackburn yes l certainly do. I have 3 kids and now they are grown “the doing box” which lived under the kitchen table has just moved to my craft room. Having a daughter with sensory issues, cutting and sticking has always just been something we’ve done. My daughter still loves to craft and now we spend many home visits, she lives in supported living now, crafting and creating things that spark the senses x
