This video is pure joy to watch/listen to!!! I love those little Tamiya bottles! In fact, I'm so appreciative of all the companies that do offer the smaller sizes like 15, 10 or 18 ml ... including J. Herbin, Pilot Irosizuku, TWSBI, & Colorverse. I too wish all companies did this! Small glass bottles look and feel so much better & allow us to try many before committing to larger bottles!!!!! Thank you for showing us so many amazing bottles!!! My Dad collected bottles (not ink bottles orher types) and I have most of his collection now. Many he found in the woods. I have a small glue bottle that's so cute! Anyway - I just love glass bottles!!!
@InkyRocks4 жыл бұрын
So do I! The bottle is pretty important to the ink for me. And, I too, wish companies would let you buy smaller bottles. Not only for testing them out, but for inks you may not use much (like a yellow or something). Thank you so much Chris!!

Great work! I love the rythm of your videos and your steady hand with the camera. Nice ink bottles too. I like heavy bottles e.g. Pelikan Edelstein but always had to use a syringe quite soon after opening. Until I got a set of plastic inserts intended for my Rohrer &Klingner bottles. They fit also the Edelstein bottles, which instantly become beautiful AND practical!

I think the best ink bottles are made of glass, and round with a heavy base. They are the most difficult to upset. They should also have a wide mouth so that all girths of pen will fit.
@peanutbutter68623 жыл бұрын
I think my 3 bottles has to be the Akkerman, Pilot, and Montblanc bottles. You can peel the label off the bottles and still be able to identify them just by their look. And you are right, Akkerman has enough ink in one bottle to last a life time it seems, hence why I have two bottles.

It's 60ml, so not an insane amount. 50ml is the standard. But the bottle makes it look like an insane quantity! Only the original Akkerman inks are 150ml. But yeah, since I currently live in a country bordering the nederlands, I will probably order a bottle to test out.

hello my name is Amanda , I just have a question about inkwells. I am wandering if I could you use a clear glass container with a lid and paint the outside to help the ink from going bad. I am looking for a way to do a DIY with out spending a lot of money right now.
@InkyRocks4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I have some clear jars that I clean really well and then dump ink in there. You can avoid painting the outside of the jar if you store it in a drawer or someplace dark and only take it out when you use it. Ink won't go bad if it gets like a little sunlight, it fades when you leave it out all the time. You can also washi tape or wrap some sort of non-clear tape around the outside instead. The important thing is to clean the jar really well and make sure it tightens down really well and store it in a dark place.
