The Black Ops games were the first games in CoD where the player characters talk during gameplay. It always bothered me that Infinity Ward didn’t implement this until Infinite Warfare. But yea I get that the whole point of a silent protagonist was to make the player feel like the character but I felt like this made the character not a character because they would only talk during cutscenes and that was it. You don’t get their thoughts or anything like that while playing as them. Alex Mason is such a memorable character due to the fact that his brainwashing went into effect and we could see it and hear it in his voice.

Honestly, I just installed this recently to show a friend who never played through this game. Showed him the first two missions including the infamous “press f to pay respects” that perfectly cuts into the second mission. This game will always remain in my top 5 COD’s. Also kind of a chilling performance done by Spacey, especially now after we know about his monsterous behavior irl. I would love to see a Pre-quel to Advanced Warfare.

As a game developer and a lore writer, games that take a while to create having multiple endings which were either cut or revised (alternate endings) doesn't entirely surprise me. New ideas can overtake the old ideas as people get on board with them. Fun Fact: There is a subtle alternate ending in AW in Zombies mode, where it's mentioned that the missiles successfully launched, implying Mitchell and Gideon failed to stop the launch and/or were killed.

COD Advance Warfare alone is better than all the Cods that been released since 2019 let's be honest. advanced warfare was the most underrated cod of all time it had everything, amazing fun movement, unlimited character customisation, lots of challenges like royalty camo, gold armor when unlocked royalty for a category, a special zombie character when completing the spec ops, the dlc weapons were easy to use, the exo suits the gun sounds the theme songs the maps amazing cod truly and i miss it, its really one of the cod that Sledgehammer and Treyarch didn't give another chance it would've been amazing if they could release number 2 before making the next to futuristic. ofc they don't wanna release another one cs they killed the main boss character to quickly smh

My 2 theories on why Mitchell might have gotten out of the exosuit. 1 it's something to do with his robot left arm because his arm is machinery and the exosuit is machinery and 2 someone or something hack into Mitchell's exosuit instead of Gideon because Iron told Mitchell that he wanted to offer Mitchell a SECOND chance and that second chance could have been to join Iron and Atlas that's why Mitchell was able to get out of his exosuit

There has to be a secret ending to infinite warfare and I really want a sequal to this game and infinite and ghost. I think he became a martyr anyway cause the current ending lines up with what the original was just painted differently Atlus will rise again and attack the world cause it might seem like they were crumbling but with all of the bases around the world and his private house they could rebuild somewhere. This is what COD needs to do forget the modern warfare part and go back to cool settings like this one with future tech and warfare I really want to see one with holodecks inside space military academies or bases and they really should look at past battles before the civil war laying the foundation to many towns which became trading posts and other historical parts of America. I wonder what COD 25 will be like and if battlefield will try to make a better story then what we’ve been going through.

Mitchell being able to move his arm in the hacked exo 7:05 and Gideon being unable comes down to the position each of them we're locked in. Mitchell would be able to leverage more strength to move his arm inward un obstructed, Gideon on the other hand was locked in a very awkward position braced by the gun with the exo gloves locked gripping it, he likely could have broken free too eventually (approximately the amount of time it takes to drop irons off a building) but it would've taken a significant amount of effort in comparison.

My personal explanation as to how Mitchell could move and Gideon couldn't; Mitchell isn't stuck holding his weapon, reducing his movements further where Gideon is. It is also easier to pull your limbs inward than it is to extend them out. So Gideon essential has a giant complex metal stick between his arms, preventing him from pulling them together

The ending we got was sloppy and non sensical, I mean he pushes someone in an exo suit over some railing, when at the start in like the second mission, we see three or so people gettin thrown around by someone in an exo as part of some training exercise. Irons making himself a martyr would have been way better than the generic “we got em guys, we got da bad guy” ending so many of these cods (especially the sledgehammer ones) fall into.

honestly i genuinely adore advanced warfare. putting aside all of the normal military propaganda that all cod games have - not saying its a good or bad thing, i have no opinion on it - AW actually has a lot of symbolism with regards to abusive parents (Irons to Mitchell), disability (Mitchell's arm), trauma, grief and depression (Mitchell's guilt towards Will's death, Irons' reaction to Will's death), and capitalism and technology's effect on war. also this original ending, imo, was way better than the one we got and wouldve been a way more interesting way to take both Mitchell and Irons' character arcs edit; also to add to something said around 7:55 mark or so, it's actually notable that WE don't grab Irons, HE grabs onto US. Mitchell's prosthetic is broken at that point, because Irons broke it in the prison camp. were shown throughout the levels after its broken that Mitchell cant use it at all. when he runs out of ammo on a gun, were unable to reload because that requires two hands, so we have to trade it for one dropped by an enemy, grab a knife, or rely entirely on Gideon - who is almost always with us after Mitchell's arm breaks - to protect us until we can get another weapon. its a small word difference, but given the character arcs throughout the story and the differences in the endings, its an important one. Mitchell is willing to let Irons fall, its Irons that latches onto Mitchell's arm - which he constantly reminds Mitchell throughout the game, he only has because of him - and begs to be shown mercy. this is in contrast to the earlier mission on the golden gate bridge where Mitchell does grab someone of his own volition with his prosthetic arm and were shown the ease with which he can use his arm and his strength to help people

There is a theory that advanced warfare exists in the same timeline as the og MW trilogy and considering what events took place his speech in one of the cutscenes about wars would make more sense considering WW3 happened in the past ( the gap between MW3 and AW is roughly 35 years so atlas would have plenty of time to grow)

Both good endings imo. While the second one would’ve been more out there, the original one brought the whole story full circle. Really really really enjoyed this campaign. AW and IW had the best campaigns of the advanced movement era of cod hands down🔥
