My whole theory is that since Cold War, they have hinted that the new MW and old and new BOs are the same universe, mainly BO1 and the past sections of BO2. With the future sections being unable to work in this timeline now, I’m assuming the next game will be a merger of MW and BO in one story. Mason and Harper with probably work with 141 and Menendez will work with Makarov. That’s my theory so far.

My assumption is that there is plenty of time apart from either series to give room for each beat to breathe without getting in the way of the other.

2 things to notice, Samuels BIO says he foughts ALONGSIDE David Mason and Mike Harper during the attack in Los Angeles, which happens AFTER the decision to kill Harper/Farid. Yes, during the Gameplay, he has a bigger role if Harper is dead, BUT it doesn't mean that he was all the time doing nothing, he could help at his own way Off-Screen or even after the Mission. And second, Menendez is 100% confirmed to be killed by David Mason in the Final Mission, as Black Ops 3 already established that in the Vault Terminal of that Game.

People thought Menendez would be back as a villain in BO6 due to "hints" but it ended up being a prestige unlock. I have a feeling 2025 will be a sequel to BO6. Closer to 2000s or late 90s. It will be a closer look into Pamtheon as you dive deeper into the conspiracy that revolves around them.

Why just not continue story of bo6 in another 90s era? (Conflict in Somalia for example). Or even in Iraq of begging 2000s with young David Mason (This is also a logical way for black ops series). Do not forget about the calling card, which refered to tragic event in 2001. Let's hope that this game will eventually come out in some future by treyarch. Although I can understand the "sequel of black ops 2", because in next year (two month's left) we will be in 2025, so maybe its main reason for that (celebrate the date and so on).

BO2 is one of my favorites, the story and music are so memorable, and it was the first I played. The new gameplay engine is so different and I think its worse. If they keep BO7 semi-futuristic like BO2, I hope they somehow keep the art style and spirit the same. BO2 had much character, and so did all of zombies before Cold War. It was so distinct.
