After seeing your review, and seeing the build quality when you took it apart, I got a V12 as my 1st wheel in December, seeing that they were in stock - briefly. Upon getting V12, it was snowing. UPS delivered it to my house at 11:30pm. I turned it on, and stood on this amazing piece of technology, dreaming about doing the things you were doing - I discovered right away that trying to learn on this heavy machine, trying to balance it and not drop it continuously would be hard on the both me, and the V12. So, I put the V12 on it's stand, and ordered a V8S. After this, I learned very quickly. Little light machines seem more cooperative, and don't fall as hard as big heavy ones. I then learned of the V12 cutoff issues, and ran a rigorous test, and it passed. Now, with 109 miles on my V8S, I dream of this summer, riding my V12. I hope maybe in a year or 2, I will be able to ride with the skill you have, here in my little seaside town in the Pacific Northwest, USA, like you did through Paris, France. Of course, I am the first, and only EUC rider here, so I want our town to welcome EUCs by being courteous, and respectful to pedestrians, cars and cyclists - and answer their questions - they have had many!
@laurv83702 жыл бұрын
Very nice story! Thanks for sharing it. It will be much faster than a year or two. I am riding one RS as my first wheel from mid of October last year (about 4 months), I have 1100 km on it, and I already have the confidence and "almost" the skill Adam has, which at my age (could be your grandfather :P) is something to be proud of. The learning curve is parabolic, once you start "feeling" it, your brain clicks, you lose the fear, and it goes naturally. The people on YT saying "it becomes a part of your body", don't lie. In the first week I thought I will never learn, watched all YT guides, took the wall, the half-moon circles with one leg, etc, it seems it took ages, but I managed to fall on my ass only once (the only fall, never in front, but I am a cautious rider, I try to keep it at max 45 kph).
@RandyRides2 жыл бұрын
I just picked up a MCM5 a few months ago, and can’t wait to learn on that! I’ll definitely be upgrading as soon as I learn and feel comfortable on it. Good luck on your journey!
@martinsaunders29422 жыл бұрын
A wise decision IMO.. Despite what some have said, I really don’t think the V12 would make a good first wheel, it would be too heavy and is powerful, you could end up in deep dodo very fast! It would be much better, easier and less frustrating to learn on a lighter wheel and then when you have got about 1000kms experience, move on to the V12.
@unamejames2 жыл бұрын
I got the v12 as my first wheel and it was difficult to get started, but I was riding it within about 6-9 hours over 3 days. I learned with it limited to 10km/h and just recently turned it up to 20km/h. No regrets here.
@ChrisH0Y2 жыл бұрын
@@unamejames On brief 10ft runs on the v12 (I couldn't help it, I was curious if I could ride it after being on the V8s) if found it to be much more stable - no drops! I won't push it though, I'll follow Martin's advice, and get serious on the v12 after 621 miles on the V8s. I am certain at that time, it will be like new superpowers, and the v12 won't get a scratch. I do envy your quick learning, sometimes, people can't afford / deal with 2 wheels, and if I only could choose one over the next 2 years, I would of started with the v12, and cover it, and myself in heavy crash protection.

I've ridden through the place de l'étoile at 3AM once, not a car to be seen. Drove from Montreuil to Issy-les-Moulineaux on my V12. Was seeing 60km/h consistently, topped out multiple times. It was insanely fun... Of course, full motorcycle gear.

I have to do a similar trip for my daily job, Montreuil => Saint Lazare, are you annoyed by the police with a wheel for the 25Km/h ? How long it took for you to do the trip ?

@@vishiouss25L I'd say less than 40mn... I can go to Fourqueux from Saint-Germain-en-Laye in about 40min and it is further. But the last leg of the trip to Montreuil doesn't allow good speed.

While the video was great, I really wish you would record more from behind you. As it is, as soon as you pass by something interesting, we can only see it disappear. We don't know what the traffic situation is ahead of you and can't anticipate with you. When you record from behind you though, we can see the Eiffel tower getting closer, the great scenery you're going through and be more immersed in your ride. Your best ride video for me was from a while ago where you had a go pro on your chest and rode in your city, wove through traffic like nothing and completely left cars in the dust at traffic lights. We couldn't see you ride as much, but man was that exciting riding with you like that. Maybe you could try a mix of the two, pov view to get immersed in the ride, and back or front view for watching you ride or admiring the scenery.

My first euc was the 16x. If I had waited another month or so this wheel would of been out and I likely would of get the v12 over the 16x
@gizmopilot2 жыл бұрын
I initially thought the same but I’m glad I got my first wheel a KS16X October 15th 2021. It was in stock It was 3rd or 4th batch allowing them time to work out the issues It had the body guard and a seat available It has lots of parts availability It seems to have a great reputation for reliability and durability. I may still get a v12, but I’m waiting until at least the 2nd batch and more reliability (it seemed the 1st run had bearing and cutout issues) Who knows I may get a 1st batch wheel in the future but I will have the 16x as a backup or as a travel wheel that can be shipped where I may travel to.
@max.chavalwan2 жыл бұрын
I’ve got the 16x for two years now as my main wheel. Treated me very well and Iove the mobility of a 16 inch wheel through busy city and crowds compare to other bigger wheels I’ve tried. I reckon it’s a good thing that u started on the 16x as your first wheel as they ride very similar but slightly different. The v12 will feel slightly less nimble and a little more too heavy from my experience borrowing a friend. (Obviously that’s only my first impressions but you get used to the characteristic of a wheel in no time) but that means it’s more stable with the higher top speed of the v12. It’s better to learn the basics of EUC on that first and build up from there imo. And plus the you’ll take more risk learning on the 16x knowing u want to buy a new wheel to improve your skills😜

IMO you’d me much better off learning on a smaller lighter wheel, like a V8 or similar, you will save yourself a lot of frustration. After you’ve got about 1000kms, move on to a V12. The V12 would be a heavy thing to learn on and it would be a real shame to drop it multiple times ( which you will when learning) and damage it.

@@KlarKen Hopefully you will be alright. Spin test doesn't guarantee it won't cut out in the future, but sure as hell shortens the lifespan of mosfets. There were at least two cases where folks had cut out after test (though not sure if the test was performed correctly). I hope inmotion decides to send a new mobo as a diy replacement. This should put end to all the uncertainty with otherwise great product.

Cześć Adam. Mam problem z Inmotion V5f.
@mr_wrongway2 жыл бұрын
Ojoj to słaba sytuacja. Może faktycznie gdzieś się dostała woda. Zwykle jednak wszystko powinno wyciec jeśli koło było pionowo postawione przez ten czas. Możesz się zgłosić do Shift Seven w Grodzisku żeby się tym zajęli :)
