16X is still with an incredible low speed torque for technical climbing, but the V12 is not too shabby going up as well (until it dies)! It seems like they relaxed the current limiting quite a bit compared to the pre-production models, if you look at Adam / Wrong way climbing tests. But then they probably relaxed it too much - so now it can self-destruct. Oops. Max power: 6504 W wow that's a lot - then dies at 6525 W. The wheel warns about overload so they know that the limit is right up there. That's so much more power dumped into the motor compared to the 16X - to compensate for the speed oriented motor. Thanks a lot Jack for these tests and already following up by opening the wheel and showing us. I pre-ordered the V12 and the QC assembly issues with the motor wire not fully connected is pretty concerning. Looking forward to a deeper analysis of the mainboard failure! Awesome job with this video series 👍

Its crazy watching the 16x laugh at a hill that has killed so many expensive and powerful wheels! Yesterday I was riding my V11 up a monster hill (25* incline about a mile long) and it hit 175*F a hundred yards from the top. My girlfriend was right next to me on the S18 and it was at 98*F! Unfortunately the S18 doesn't have enough power for my needs.

From my personal experience with InMotion they only care about problems with their wheels if it happens to a known KZbin influencer. As a “nobody,” my wheel failed after 2 months and less than 300 miles and InMotion didn’t help at all. I was in contact with their service department for over a year.. clearly got a bad battery but they wouldn’t replace or service the wheel.

Great video bro.. Related with the sound i will disagree since i had both the quality sound on the v12 is better but the bass on at least the pre production one was not loud. Beside that important talking about how easy is to damage the speakers with water on the 16x if you dont cover them with tape.. Even doing it it was not enough to dont damage them. Another thing that I really didn't get it on your video is you are comparing 2 wheels in speed limiting the v12 and also not putting powerpads on the v12... How you expect that the wheel is faster if you stop ot to go to the full potential? Beside that the V12 is a wheel that can't be compared like this.. There are so many parameters to set up and adjust the wheel to you that makes the wheel perform better than the 16x because you dont have to adjust to the wheel but the wheel adjust to your riding style. Need it to add this.. Big hug and continue to make videos

The main reason for the failure of V12 was just the poor contact of one of the phase wires to the motherboard. This was evidenced by anomalous heating, according to telemetry data. On my old KS14C there was a similar problem when I forgot to tighten the screw terminal on the phase wire. Fortunately, I noticed the overheating in time and was able to fix the situation before the motherboard may burned out.

I never suggest tethering the wheel because if I fall or if the wheel drops we'll be pulled down together, so now instead of the wheel hitting someone i'm hitting them too, just a personal opinion. Plus the cameraman is responsible for warning people around if they do happen to come through.

Totally different applications for wheels like the EX.N. There must be a difference, as they are different wheels, but some things should be "fixed" in the next tests/comparisons, in my opinion. Put powerpads on both wheels, as Madpack and Lucas wrote it, and emphasize that V12 is highly customizable (in terms of breaking and acceleration). Another thing is showing the differences in tires of each wheel, if they have the same patterns or not, as well as sizes. Last but not least, I suggest some dry weather to avoid slides, crashes or having to go down by walking and therefore "compromising" the comparison. But you are brave to do those tests. I wouldn't do it myself. And the 16X is still strong.

16x is way better than V12, speed above 50km/h on 16 inch wheel is not comfortable anyway, so the ks16x is still the best 16" wheel on the market. Stiill 50km/h is not slow, and when some people say that 16x is slow wheel I laugh, because when it was first invented and produced other wheels had max 40 or 50 km/h and not more.

@bigbadboogie68423 жыл бұрын
Dude, with 16x u accelerated max when flat, reached about 10-12km/h. inMotion attempt 2 6-7km/h, attempt3 5-7km/h (braking just as u start to climb, why?). Not strange that it cuts when you stall it from start ;) If you know a bit electronics you know that a motor at 0rpm with full load = close to shortcut ;-)
@official.electricdreams3 жыл бұрын
There’s a few attempts where I did accelerate more on the 16x but I also did almost a standing start. Doesn’t take away the fact that it climbed 11 times and the v12 did 3
@94e883 жыл бұрын
That really doesn't affect the results, the 16x kept that speed up all the way because it has way more torque. The v12 has less torque and thus is pushed harder to reach the same output. Also, if you knew anything about electronics you'd know that the torque is highest at 0rpm and gradually tapers off, so the fact that the v12 can't make it even when going slower speaks mountains of its weaknesses. 0rpm at full load isn't close to "shortcutting"( you probably mean short), a short is when 2 pieces of wire or other conductor touch when they are not meant to. Shorting a motor would result in a fuse being blown on the mainboard.

Notwithstanding the disclaimer at the end of the video, and your tester status Jack, would it be reasonable to generally consider it to be a ‘risky’ to ‘foolish’ thing to even attempt this with a product any rider had themselves bought? Also, by what means (app, measurement or similar calculation) are you determining the incline of the hill you use, I ask because it does not seem to compare to some of the inclines shown in other influencer/tester videos which are reckoned to be of a steeper quoted gradient, but actually appear to be less steep than the one you are regularly attempting, and indeed frequently killing the wheels on - somewhere along the way, it seems one gradient quoted does not seem correct given the appearance of the others, given the respective gradient measurements cited?

The facts that you used powerpad on KS16X make those test quite questionnable (also why limiting V12 speed ?). The fact that you go over a slippery hill is not very relevant because tire type come in the equation. The fact that you use a V12 that not even shipping already vs a KS16X that have already one to one and a half year and maybe in batch 2 or 3, and second or third firmware update..make the comparaison quite limited. For record KS16X had a lot of trouble at first (front and back wobble for ex). So I think this kind of video is not very usefull and can be missleading. I aprecaite the effort but Im not sure it s good.
@official.electricdreams3 жыл бұрын
limiting the speed so its a fair speed test to the 16x, otherwise its obvious we know which wheel is faster in terms of top speed. its not about how many times it makes it up the hill its about how many times till the wheel gives out, in this case 3 for the v12 and this wheel is production unit as confirmed by inmotion when i visited their HQ. Please refresh the page and watch the video again.
@Mn-xh9ps3 жыл бұрын
@@official.electricdreams You call it a speed test while you mean an acceleration test, powerpad should be still on both wheel, Inmotion have soft tilt back (wheel resisting to acceleration before hting hard tiltback) and by limiting the wheel to 51km.h you will hit it at around 48km/h. Sry I still think the test is not done in the best way, just a 0 to 45km/h and put powerpad on both. You call your hill test "torque test" maybe better to call it "stress test" it will avoid confusion....
@aatee58403 жыл бұрын
