Grazie Martino! Always good to hear an appraisal by a clearly intelligent engineer who actually sees the relevant stuff, not just the gung-ho..how fast aspect! That was a really good appraisal of the V13. It is a lovely thing, but I’m simply not interested in anything heavier than my V12. At the size and weight of the 13, they cease to be micro mobility completely , and in most cases must be a comple PITA to live with on a daily basis. Great video as all ways. …Many thanks !

Very good review. I am in kinda same trade like you, i.e. long rides, paved mountain roads, and love my Master Pro, the only thing I don't like for V13 is its range. I assume (read: hope) they will make a wider version in the future, with 36mm they could add a full sheet of batteries on each side and get to 4kWh, still less than Master Pro, and a paperclip heavier, but still narrower (MP is about 50mm wider), and of a much better quality. If they do so, and it is interchangeable, I would buy the upgrade battery packs for sure.

You said you weren't sure of what the V12 pedals were like, my V12HT came with grip tape pedals, mine are still new because I have NyloNove Pedals on the wheel. Range - my Sherman S gives me ~140km at decent speeds (~32kph rolling average, hitting speeds up to ~65kph). I've now got 740km on my Sherman S. The V13 looks good if it isn't your only wheel (if you have something else for longer range and something else for when you don't want to lift something so heavy). Price - problem to some, no issue to some, each rider just needs to decide if they are willing to pay whatever the wheel costs them.

I think if you hold the kill switch for two seconds it will put the wheel into a permanent kill switch mode until you hold the same button again. So you can keep the power on and lift the wheel without a full power off. Let’s say it’s mid ride and you don’t want to reset the single ride specs.

Thanks for the video. When you mention overheat, what temp is too hot?? I have a Kingsong S22 and there is so little info. I’m flying blind/winging it. It would be nice to know where to set the alarms at least in EUC world app. I have just been sending it with no real alarms and no tilt back ever felt. I guess I’m lucky so far, but luck will only go so long. It would be nice to have a video on EUC world app alarms for temp, max current, etc.
@ElectricUnicycles Жыл бұрын
The S22 is a very cool running wheel. If you see temps in the 50's (Celsius) you know that the wheel is working really hard. Most of the time it should be in the 30's to 40's. It will overheat at 79° Celsius and tilt-back to force you off the wheel. If you want to set a warning temperature in EUC World I would use 70°

THANK YOU MARTY! My internal mind battle is over lol, im waiting till the end of the year to see what those two are. Being that the V13 carried its weight SO WELL, how much more battery weight/Watthour do you think they could add to the V13 while still having that good feeling of a safe and secure ride? If they add a good amount more battery, they can probably fix the over torque issue as well.
@ElectricUnicycles Жыл бұрын
More battery probably means a thicker wheel which will affect the ride quality. Hard to know if the diminished torque at the high end would be affected by a bigger battery.

I love everything about this wheel, but the range (inefficiency) is just frustrating.
@updlate4756 Жыл бұрын
This is like the new tech going into the luxury class vehicle first before filtering down to the economy cars. The fire protection safeguards are a big plus. The smart BMS, passive cell balancing, and extra insulation around the cells means less stress on cells, hopefully knowing something is wrong before a cell starts on fire, and if a cell does start on fire, the other cells are protected against thermal runaway. Whether it actually works is a big question. Lack of fire safety may be restricting adoption rates of PEVs. I still wouldn't buy this wheel, way too heavy and expensive, but if they can shrink the tech and make it cheaper, I'd be all over a smaller 2-3 kWh wheel with minimal risk of burning down my house / office or smoking them out... For the price of this wheel and with all the tech they're touting, I'm hoping that means the life of the wheel will be extended beyond what other wheels have been able to accomplish.

Would you say the Veteran Sherman S is a better cruiser, while the V13 is more performance oriented?

When I think cruiser I think distance. The S would certainly be better and it absolutely has a more comfy ride
@IamAManNotAMadHobo Жыл бұрын
@@ElectricUnicycles For the money which one would you prefer?
@thatguyjoel9885 Жыл бұрын
Well, Marty is a cruiser, and he also said it has a more comfortable ride. If I was picking between the 2, I'd go with Sherman S. I don't need that top speed, ( I wouldn't mind it, but knowing myself, don't really need it, because then I'd become comfortable ripping around at 50 mph.) For the range and for the ride, Sherman takes the win. Or buy both. It's still cheaper than a car buying both. I forget who mentioned this, but what I want to see is a tire company( Toyo, Michelin) or any solid "fringe" sport company( Fox Racing, Leatt, Troy Lee Designs, Red Bull, Alpine Star, etc) do a collab or even a line of wheels with In-Motion, Leaperkim, or Knigsong . If it happened ,theoretically some big jumps in the safety of the rider and crash proofing of the wheel itself would occur, as any one of the companies I threw out there have a ton of experience with negating high speed crashes/injuries, and could also push the performance of the wheels themselves up into the mind-blowingly fast zone. While we are here today talking about the Challenger and it's groundbreaking (and bone) 55mph or the Gotway MasterPro and it's flimsiness, just think if some companies that had road racing/ off-road experience , and like decades of it, got involved with the production and design of their own entries into the EUC world. An entirely US designed and produced wheel that was top of the elite class as well as having a multitude of options in the beginner to Intermediate classes as well? Dare we dream like that?
@ElectricUnicycles Жыл бұрын
@@thatguyjoel9885 unfortunately I don't think we will ever see the collaboration that you suggest (which is a great idea) because of the safety liabilities of these chinese-made products. I doubt any Western company would want to tie themselves to that
