The guitarist is Angus Young...who is now 68 years old! The idea of the school boy uniform came from his sister, who thought he looked cute when he returned home from school wearing it when he was a child. It's been his trademark for decades.

Not too shabby for a bunch of old dudes!!!!! AC/DC played 3 straight nights at River Plate in Dec 2009 to a total of 220,000+ ppl so says their official web site so that’s 73,000+ a night!!!!! Brian Johnson the lead singer was 63, Angus Young the lead guitarist was 55 and the rest of the boys were in their 50’s!!! Legendary is all I can say. These Argentina fans are the best on the planet and they appreciate good hard driving rock and roll. Just look at all the different ages in the crowd. It transcends generations. Unbelievable!! So says Austin Tx!!!! 🤣🤣🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸😍😍😍🥳🥳😎😎🍸

One of the best Live shows done by the band. River Plate is insane, the crowds over 3 sold out nights jumped so much they damaged buildings next to the stadium. Did you note the size of the crowds? I think from memory, there were around 200,000 at each of the concerts .. 3 days in a row! Then there's the Moscow concert with a number of bands including Metalica, where the crowds were in the millions. This was an era when bands had 'talent' and were around for years ... long enough to form long lasting fans. Today's musicians/bands tend to be 'one hit wonders' and are churned out by the music companies every second day and no one will remember most of them in a few years. Their concerts are also tiny in comparison.

I saw AC/DC in the early 1980's, at an indoor arena, on their "For Those About To Rock" tour. During the concert they set off cannons. The band was so loud, you didn't hear the cannons. You felt the pressure level in your chest and saw the smoke but didn't hear them. This may explain some of my current hearing problems

And I'm glad they're getting their tour back together. I believe they're in Indio, CA this weekend (Saturday) playing at the Empire Polo Club. In my opinion this is the best stadium performance by a Rock Band ever. River Plate is a soccer stadium that normally seats about 85,000 fans. This concert also sold seats to what is normally the soccer field so there were in excess of 200,000 tickets holding AC/DC cult followers here for this concert. Thunderstruck is what I consider to be the single greatest fan experience at a rock concert . I never had a chance to go to an AC/DC concert and am hoping to finally get to see one from their tribute band this summer in Iowa (Jul 22).

inna, you haven't missed anything yet. All that music you can still discover and listen to. It doesn't matter when. One of the things I missed out on is having been to a AC/DC live concert. For some unknown reason it never happened even though I have been to many other concerts, but so be it. AC/DC is one of the best (known) rock bands of all time. The energy during their performances and in the songs themselves is contagious: you have to sing along and play air guitar or drums. One can not sit still during an AC/DC song. Guitar player Angus Young is a phenomenon in itself. Not only is he a great player but his on stage performance is fantastic. The very first time I had the pleasure of seeing AC/DC on television was when Whole lotta Rosie was released in Europe in 1977 and little Vals saw a guitar player in a school boy uniform on stage doing his own version of Chuck Berry's goose walk (check out Chuck Berry if you can as he is one of the founders of rock and roll and with that most current music genres). Little Vals was a fan of AC/DC from that moment on. At the time Bon Scott was the singer of the band. He tragically died in 1980 after which the current singer Brian Johnson took over.

I was lucky in that I was in Toronto in for 8 months of the 1990 and AC/DC played at SkyDome, The Razor's Edge tour. They started with Thunderstruck, unreal!! Then in 1995 (96?) I saw them again at SkyDome, the Ballbreaker tour. As you say, impossible to stay still at their concerts. EVERYONE is into it and know the lyrics by heart. Other 1990 notables were Heart, Cheap Trick, Judas Priest, Megadeth and David Bowie

Angus Young is the lead guitarist, his brother Malcolm (RIP) is on rhythm guitar and they are the remaining founding members of AC/DC. They are of Scottish decent so I am bias being Scottish. The singer is Brian Johnson who took over the reins after Bon Scott died in the 1970s. Brian is a Geordie - i.e. he's from County Durham near Newcastle England. Angus Young is one of the most prolific guitatists in the world with many younger ones taking their lead from him. AC/DC is definitely a band worth delving into.....I'm not a metal head (I'm a Goth) but I absolutelyylove their music. Geat reaction by the way.

ACDC was one of the best pure straight-ahead rock bands and their 1980 album Back In Black is definitely within the top 10 rock albums of all time (also, the 2'nd best selling album of all time). ACDC was formed in 1973 by brothers Angus Young (lead guitarist, who always wears a schoolboy uniform in concert) and Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar) and the bassist, Cliff Williams, and drummer, Phil Rudd, in this concert had been with them for more than three decades at the time of this concert. Their original lead singer, Bon Scott, dies from alcohol poisoning just 7 months after the release of their 1979 breakthrough album Highway To Hell. After being convinced by Bon's parents to keep the band together, they found a new lead vocalist, Brian Johnson (the guy in this video), and shortly after they recorded the classic Back In Black album.

Thunderstruck was my first time being in touch with Rock music, in a disco that elsewise mainly played 90s techno… so here we were on the overcrowded dancefloor with tons of techno fans screaming Thunder … I’d love to see your reaction to hells bells next

@@dugii12345 Dude, you're a bit behind the times. Brian had hearing issues which were resolved in 2017. He came back in 2018 and so did Cliff and eventually Phil Rudd. They recorded a new album, "PwrUP" which was released in December, 2020. The only member of the band who isn't still there is Malcolm, who sadly died in 2017. HIs nephew Stevie replaced him in 2013,

Thanks for your reaction. the guitarist you asked about is Angus Young. River Plate stadium can accomodate a crowd of around 85000 people. From the same River Plate show, I could recommend you Hells Bells from the same band--amazing performance. If you wamt another example of an old band with musicians still rocking in their late 50's early 60's I suggest you Metallica (live Québec Magnetic), choose either master of puppets or Seek & destroy--I was there for the entire show and interactions between the band & the crowd were amazing. In order to help us out if you could present yourself a little bit: how old are you ?--what do you like in music (which style) and small thimgs like that. It will be easier for us to make suggestions that you will like. Have a nice day, Inna. Want to sing along ??--then do it, you seem to enjoy it. If you wantch the Metallica live songs that I suggested, find the lyrics before watching, you'll need them to sing along also--they'll ask you.

I saw them twice in Hannover / Germany . Sadly i missed Bon Scott ( RIP ) . But Brian filled very good in . Two great Rock Singer . Malcom ( RIP ) the mastermind and rythm machine . Angus the virtuose guitar maniac . Cliff and Phil in the back driving the sound . One of the greatest Bands of all time .

I was at the opening concert of the Razor's Edge tour (Buffalo War Memorial Auditorium - the very last event before they tore it down!), and that was tiny in comparison to this. As for the lyrics, they take on a whole new meaning when one considers that The Razor's Edge is a concept album that tells the story of a visit to a Nevada brothel...

Always a pleasure to see the next generation exploring and getting excited about the music of my youth. Thunderstruck is great, but also check out their early work. There is a brilliant live-version of "Bad Boy Boogie" out there that I would recommend. Snotty-nosed round-about-twenty Angus is such a a blast.

The guitarist you love is “Angus Young.” He is the most famous & original member of the band. You know somebody should open up a nursing home for old rock groupies! By the way “Back in Black” & “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” is fantastic as well!
