How to fit Apple CarPlay to Jaguar XJ X351 (2010)

Hi Innes. Great video! I am installing this at the moment; what did you do (if anything) with the DIP switches on the unit? Did you change any of them?

I left them as they were. If the image appears off screen or. Ur off, then you may have to play with them.

Thanks for the video! Do you know why it's necessary to disconnect the battery? I've been told to never disconnect the battery on the XJ / XF unless it's to replace it.. even leaving it connected when doing work on the engine

It’s to save upsetting the satnav and head unit. I didn’t have any issues after reconnecting the battery afterwards.

@@innesmaclean21 I got this job done, disconnected battery fine! Your video had a much smarter location for the unit, put mine in the passenger side like yours, worked a charm and so well insulated that you really can't notice it's there! Thanks again

If you change the temp/blowers etc, do you get the overlay showing the change when in AirPlay mode, then it disappears after a few seconds? Same for rev cam, parking sensors etc. Do they display as normal over top of AirPlay or do you need to exit to the normal/old interface to view them? Thanks in advance.

Yes they overlay, just like they do when the normal Jaguar sat nav is plugged in.
