What's messed yo is that prisoners who have committed evil are allowed outside recreation for 30 mins a day. But a person committed for emotional issues into a hospital won't even allow patients near windows let alone outside.

it is for their own saftey, the hospital would be liable for someone if they took their own life inside a hospital. Also they do these things to keep patients from harming themselves or others.

Patients need to be able to practice their abilities to use the tools under observation, there should be a different level of treatment in hospitals depending on their diagnosis not just a " one size fits all" type of thinking it's different for everyone.

During my stay, we didn't see a therapist. Our group sessions were run by techs, and we saw the psychiatrist for maybe 5 minutes each day, and a "rent a doctor" for 2 seconds on the weekends.

This is nothing like my experience. I saw a doctor who just prescribed meds and a therapist who only saw me for 10 min or less and that was only 5days a week. And when u were suicidal they would force you to stay on unit. And you weren’t allowed outside. And you only got these crappy crayons to color with and the food was awful and the staff talked all night so no one could sleep. I would recommend researching a lot before going inpatient unless you want to feel like worse than you already do feel

If your a teen girl in crisis, your odds being placed in a inpatient hospital is very likely, but for me, i was arrested and place in county jail for 1 week. I was assaulted and suffered a seizure. I have autism BTW

I watched this video because when I see my therapist next, I'm going to ask for help. I told myself I'm going to tell her no matter how bad the thoughts get. if I'm able to get into her office at least she'll she how bad I've gotten even if I'm not able to tell her. I'm just scared because of last time I was in the hospital. how my parents looked at me and how awful I felt. the nurses and doctors were nice but, i don't know.

This isn't exactly accurate. Typically, patients encounter and work with psych techs/counselors, staff nurses, social workers/licensed counselors (who act as case therapists), and a nurse practitioner (NP) or a psychiatrist. Patients will not see both an NP and a Psychiatrist as NP's have the ability to diagnose and treat mental illness. You really do not see many Psychologists in these settings.

*'Behavorial health,' is a ridiculous concept; outward behavior does not indicate one's health and if other people are uncomfortable with your natural body movements or tone of voice, that is their problem, not yours.*

It depends tho. I’m very nonchalant and it often comes off like I don’t care cause of how I say things. So as long as their not willing you to change you’re entire dialect it wouldn’t hurt to change so mannerisms.
