I kind-of didn’t want to name it that, because I don’t like the practice of “claiming” tech, and I hoped I would think of a better name in the subsequent months. I did not, and the ZSS discord had already started calling it the Orio fair, so I gave up lol

This is awesome, but I think you could push the ZSS meta even further. I assume you’ve seen snasen’s amazing video about Instant Double Jump, and I believe ZSS could benefit greatly with the application of IDJ in her already fierce combos. Perhaps you could make a showcase about ZSS IDJ combos, would make for a very interesting video!

Hey Orio great video once again. I love experimenting with fastfall through the platform up-airs and neutral airs. They give full hip damage and hit lag which makes for truer combos. I was wondering if you had any luck starting the Orio fair with an up air and forward momentum. I think it works similar to the starting with nair

It does work similarly! However, it’s slightly more difficult and risky than nair, so I focussed on nair for the main video.

what kind of combos do you normally like to go for on ZSS? for example, with fox i love going for dash attack to nair loop conversions on characters. whats your "go to" for ZSS? does she have one? maybe just nair to fair? not as exciting or as much damage, nair to flipkick i guess is optimal at many scenarios. or maybe nair to nair to upair loops or something like that? i ask because i'm trying to get more comfortable with the character and have a goal in mind when playing her.

when i coyote jump, do i need to hold my stick to any direction or how long? Im very unconsistent getting the fair

The main advantages of the coyote jump in these combos are that you have maximum airspeed the moment you leave the ground, and you can input the forward air much earlier than normal for full hop height. For the Ike combo, you need to hold forward and input the fair as early as possible after the coyote jump.

Nah, me neither. In most cases the full hop is enough, and when she does need to double jump (like in a ladder combo) she usually benefits from delaying the double jump as long as possible.

@@STAWBsOrio I disagree a bit with this. I'm experimenting with IDJ lately and there are stages where Uair->IDJ Uair -> falling uair is a best option to land on plataforms and keep the ladder going. Usually, for Uairs, you don't want to use IDJ without a plataform to reset, but it is useful. Also, falling Uair->UpB feels a lot smoother/cleaner with IDJ, since you achieve high height before then normally double jumping and is able to keep momentum. Other commom stuff from IDJ apply , she is able to better punish ledge jumps since her Bair hitbox is buffered/rising. I also feel that Nair->Bair (when people mess up DI) works on a bigger percent interval. I think it's a great tool, even if it does not bring us a deadly new combo/kill confirm.

It’s still a good tool, but I can’t think of a situation where it is actually necessary. e.g. falling uair to up B is always guaranteed up to 130% anyway, regardless of how you jump.

I did some testing and found that on Yoshi’s story, idj makes it easier to do ladders with the side platforms. For example, if they are on the side plat and you are on the ground, you can do idj up air, landing up air, double jump up air, and then boost kick to kill

I've been trying to experiment with Nair>footstool>Dair>Up air or Bair (Neither are a true combo) at low percents (15-30ish) but I don't have any analyzing equipment to tell you how good that is, maybe Orio can answer this

It’s definitely legit. Dair->bair is true regardless of DI if you hit the reverse hit (which you will with a footstool). It’s a pretty tough combo for a similar reward to easier combos though.

This is cool! I've been experimenting with landing Fair1 Fair2 Dsmash myself so it's nice to see some optimizations with it. One question: will the combo on Fox at ~26 work if the Fox mashes properly?
