11:30 "What did they hear?" They played the starting sound! Just very quickly after the "on your marks" command, almost like the starter's finger hit the button by accident. There was a boat blocking the other half of the field. Surprisingly oblivious commentary there
@FroisonControl
@FroisonControl 2 жыл бұрын
yeah i was confused about that, like they thought someone jumped the gun...they all went at the same time because they heard the buzzer, the only people that didn't go were the ones because of the boat...I guess the commentators didn't hear the buzzer because it was immediately as they set? there was no false start, just a big whoopsies because of the boat.

Commentators can clearly read Blummenfelts body language. Saying he is spent just before he attacks and later 250m from the finish making fun of the aid station sign that he'll not need it for sure and so he vomits at the finish and taken care by the medical service... Congratz to all of them, great race, great athletes!

I wouldn't say that Yee didn't give it his all. It's just that Blummenfelt was willing to take the risk of collapsing before the finish line, while Yee is more of a strategic runner. It's kind of like going all-in in poker. But still, hats off to Blummenfelt for that kind of determination.
