It's a 12 to 24 player game with two to four players per board, but leave Antarctica empty. When you want to travel to a new board you have to decide whether it is for Immigration, Business or Pleasure. Travelling for Immigration means that you have to exchange all of your money for the local currency, & you have to stay on that board for five full rotations. If you go to jail for breaking any of the local laws then you get deported & your properties go up for auction. All money goes to the bank of that region. Half of the local currency you have on hand is returned to the bank. After completing your 5 full rotations you are now a Citzen of that region & can no longer be deported from there. You must also revoke your Citizenship of your last home country. If you are deported from another region then you return to the region you last became a citizen of. Travelling for Business means that you have to leave after one full rotation & you have to buy at least one property within your first rotation or be deported, which comes with a hefty fine. You can go back to that board, but only after two full rotations on your home board. Travelling for Pleasure means you get a 20% discount on rent, you can use any station or airport tiles to move about the board with a small fee, but you cannot buy properties. Immigration, Business, & Pleasure travelers can use airports/harbours to get to adjacent boards for a fee, similar to Risk where you can't move directly from Europe to Oceania, & would have to travel through Asia. There are ways to avoid going to or staying in jail, be it bribing the police (cost & chance is region dependent), knowing the local mob/mafia who can bust you out (for a fee), or using a special card called "Faking Your Death" where you cannont move for a turn (in hiding) & move to a new region (adjacent to your current one) of your choice before you go through the Immigration process. If for any reason you go to jail in the new region you are sent back to where you last faked your death & cannot roll to leave jail for 5 turns, you are given a heavy fine (25% of your total cash in that region's currency) on top of the Immigrat penalty. You can get to the Antarctica board via special properties on the South American, African, & Oceania boards, but you have to pay a hefty fee. On the Antarctica board there are options to invest in research sites. Research sites are entities independent from players that can form contracts with players. The players can invest various tiers of money & get a return every time they pass Go in any region. However the amount they get paid can vary as it is rolled for. A 1 gives nothing, 2 or 3 gives 5% of the investment back, a 4 or 5 gives 7.5% of the investment back, & a 6 gives gives 10% of the investment back in cash. If they want to invest more into that or any other research site then they have to physically get there to sign the contract.

Yknow, one of my favorite boardgame memories back in the day is actually playing what me and my friends called "Batshit monopoly" Where it's basically monopoly but we took other random boardgame and card game items from other games and implemented it into monopoly and we had to use our imagination to make the game mechanics. So for example, I would play monopoly with my buds, but then I'd draw a pikachu pokemon card and use my pikachu to shock the electric company my buds owned to avoid paying rent. and I would use a +2 uno card to get an extra 400$ when I pass go. It was basically a frankenstein'd amalglamation of various other board and card games into one game and it was beautiful. It was like 4 different card games + 2 board games mixed into 1.
@smamy88612 жыл бұрын
You should try and make that into a real board game with proper rules
@SpoopyChicken2 жыл бұрын
@@smamy8861 The beauty of it was that there were no rules, you just came up with bullshit at the spot and if it made enough sense it'd work. I mean it's pretty easy to do with most boardgames, just grab 7 other board/card games, randomize the pieces/cards and go wild.

Triopoly was a weird board game from the 90s andthey discontinued it after a few years. Pretty rare game. Reminded me of this.

This reminds me of the time I played Pi Chess in elementary school. You control two sets of chess pieces facing back to back against two different opponents on a circular chess board. It requires 4 to 8 players and it took hours. It was so crazy and so much fun. It is nuts when your queen could take out a piece on the other side of the board.

I briefly considered challenging my family to four-way monopoly, which is just four monopoly boards connected at the GO corners.

there are no rules in monopoly that say you can't purchase every $1 in the game and sell it back for $5 each

The rule is that you can't bankrupt the bank. If for some reason the bank doesn't have the denominated funds to pay out to a player, you're supposed to use paper slips you make yourself as substitutes.

For those curious, if the government paid 99.9998% and he still needed to pay $200, the railway across the Atlantic would cost $100 million, with the government paying $99,999,800. That's still pretty cheap given the size and location

This is good, however the best augmentation to monopoly is the addition of bean boozled. To incorporate bean boozled into the game the owner of the property gives the person that landed on the property a choice. Either pay rent or play a round of bean boozled. Now you can sit back and relax and watch people gamble at trying to avoid paying rent
