@Crazy_Diamond_755 жыл бұрын
Dude, some of those kicks it looked like there was 0 impact in the foot, which seems INSANE to me. How do they transfer that energy so efficiently?
@yareyare_dechi5 жыл бұрын
@@Crazy_Diamond_75 while its true a well executed kick will splinter a board and not hurt (really after the time it takes you to get good enough at TKD your feet will have become pretty desensitised anyway) the boards they use for this demo are super porous and soft so they break easily. not because they cant destroy solid boards but because the point of the demo is the acrobatics and not the power, plus when youre kicking 100s of them in a show and you risk landing on them its also a safety thing. the K-tigers also have other demos where they do power breaking, like im talking 2x4 slabs of pine boards stacked up and cider blocks/granite slabs
@totally_not_a_bot5 жыл бұрын
@@Crazy_Diamond_75 Think hitting a ball. You follow through so that as much momentum goes into that ball as possible and so you don't need to waste energy slowing down. They're just hitting the ball really, really hard.

the whole point of the wood Isn't to show how hard they kick its to show accuracy, the wood is super flimsy, Still really impressive.
@whiskey24925 жыл бұрын
No dude it does show how hard they kick and about the accuracy even even if we don't aim perfectly at our target it just flows naturally and we know we will hit it
@pedror5985 жыл бұрын
@@whiskey2492 No, it doesn't show how hard they kick. Look at the way the wood breaks. They position the pieces of wood with it's fibers parallel to the foot, that way it's easier to break. The same thing is done in those demonstrations of "strenght", where an athlete breaks multiple slabs of wood. Strenght is required, of course, but positioning the wood with the fibers in the right orientation helps A LOT.

@@errorerror6918 Ive broke those boards easily with my head with almost no effort they are incredibly brittle and split in very predictable ways. It's more of a parlor trick than anything. Now if they were breaking inch diameter dowel rods that would be incredibly impressive in muay thai we smack each other in the shins with them to condition ourselves for checking kicks. The impressive part of this video is their acrobatic ability
