A little known fact is that the original Sanity Grinding mill deck in Standard way back was designed by me, I used to play at the same store as Tim Willoughby and he gave my list to Gerry and Ben and a few others who played it some and made it popular. Was my first homebrew that became an archetype XD

@drpibisback7680
@drpibisback7680 Жыл бұрын
I feel like Emmy is unlikely because mill just isn't that popular. Amulet Titan has the sideboard space because it can deal with most common matchups by being faster (hence weird cards like Hallowed Moonlight for Living End, one of the only decks that can reasonably race them), Scam has more tools and more to worry about.

HEART OF THE CARDS
@Pairsath
@Pairsath Жыл бұрын
I would very much like to know and kindly request your take on "Mission Briefing" as a card in this deck. It also has double blue in it's cost. It basically can be any spell from your grave, notably re-cast "Archive Trap" from the grave for free, if OP has searched his library. I understand the need for grave yard hate (which you perfectly showcased in this video) but to me the "Counter Spell" felt like the weakest card in this deck (beside Devastation Tide, but that you already dealt with at the end). Wouldn't "Mission Briefing" speed up the own game plan rather than dilute the sequencing mill decks usually prefer?
@BoshNRoll
@BoshNRoll Жыл бұрын
Briefing was in the original deck I was sent. It’s fine, but I think there’s plenty of good cards you can draw and play on their face that we don’t need a weird Snapcaster effect to conditionally recycle other cards.
@Pairsath
@Pairsath Жыл бұрын
@@BoshNRoll I guess "fine" doesn't cut it in modern and the deck does win without doubling down on certain cards, so that also makes sense. Thank you.

11:00 "I don't want to get hit by a later Prime Time" when opponent has four face-up Titans in the graveyard XD I mean, I guess them having Emrakul possibly makes that a valid concern still, but it just feels silly to have a second game in a row where you don't bother looking at the graveyard for information.

Hey Brian ... I got one now that we have mastermind CoCo fae. That splash of green for some BUG action might be a nice toolbox COCO Turns into pay 3G Counter a spell put power with hast into play, draw a card and mess with a players hand.. Using SSS , Mastermind, V,clique
@drpibisback7680
@drpibisback7680 Жыл бұрын
Sure, it can do all of those things, but when you don't know what's on top you can't rely on it. CoCo is best when you're more proactive and it doesn't matter what your opponent specifically has. Faeries is a tempo deck at the core, it relies on being able to take the right actions at the right time. It might work, but I don't think it's as good as you're thinking. Also CoCo only hits two creatures, you can't put Spellstutter, Mastermind, and Vendillion Clique into play off one CoCo.

Against Titan, the reason they have Hallowed Moonlight in is because you showed them Shelldock. That means you can't throw an Emrakul in, which is sometimes what people do in Mill as an eject button for games.
