EDITED TO ADD: I realized when I was editing this that I failed to include actual swatches of my 3 weathered woods flash florescence shadows (even though I was holding them in my hands and describing them at great length...I was so annoyed with my past self when I got into the footage). My excuse is that I was/am in the middle of a giant move and there were also a lot of moving parts to this video already. But know that some of you might be looking specifically for those swatches and I'm so sorry to disappoint you. My makeup is all now in moving boxes, but as soon as I'm reunited with it I will provide those swatches in a series of Instagram stories, I promise!!!! And for the time being, you can watch me apply Chilled Cherry to my eyes in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5LIoJ2uhMZ1sKMm15s and see what it looks like. ORIGINAL COMMENT: thank you all SO MUCH for your patience, I know there's been a big gap between videos this week! It's because Joe and Sadie and I are moving across the country. We should be up and running again very soon, but apologies if I'm less responsive than usual in the comments for another week or so! I can't wait to build an even better and stronger channel in our new location ❤❤❤

@@agresticumbra hello! I am so sorry I am just now getting back to you as I didn’t realize you had left a comment! Anyways! I am familiar with that brush and it could work! I own the blush in Smolder, which reads as the dreamiest, not-too-orange apricot on my light-medium, neutral-to-olive skin. It's SO flattering and the Three Muskateers nougat texture is delightful. Ditto the three Weathered Woods collection eyeshadow shades I have (like you, I also got all except for Pewtered Pine) , which I assumed would probably look "wrong" on me but are actually fabulous. I find the eyeshadows a touch tricky to work with (they can sometimes bunch up), which I know is not the consensus, but I don't mind a little extra effort for the sophisticated results they offer. I'm considering the highlighter, but my skin is already pretty glowy on its own and I'm not sure it would add very much. Once those muted blush shades arrive, though, Phytosurgence will have all my spare change. Edit: I find that the eyeshadow texture is very similar to that of the Maybelline color tattoo shadows, but for the sake of opposing animal testing, stick with Phytosurgence.

Waiting for my Phytosurgence order at the moment. So excited to try the brand's Spectral Shine bronzer as well as Defiant Dahlia & Oxidized Olive eyeshadows. I'm also hoping that Verdant Forcefield moisturizer will become one of my staples. Unfortunately for me (yet fortunately for the brand), the spark blushes were completely sold out:(( I'm definitely getting the shades Fume, Evaporate and Condensate as soon as they're back in stock. Thank you sooo much for doing such a thorough, insightful and helpful review (as usual)!!

I love everything about this video. I love Phytosurgence with my entire heart, and they've helped me with my currently evolving makeup preferences. I've used up half my wild oak shadow because I love using it as an eye primer, I've gone through an entire bottle of the Verdent Forcefield moisturizer, and I've hit pan on two different shades of spectral shine. The formulas are f*ing WEIRD but that's why I love them. Once you get how they work, it changes everything.

I’m gonna repeat this to you: do you apply spectral shine the way HLP, and the site, describe? How do you use it with other products? What kind of skin do you have? Thanks in advance!
@WolffBlurr2 жыл бұрын
The way you describe the way the verdant forcefield actually reminds me of a term we use in concrete design called “saturated surface dry” which means all the pores within the aggregate are saturated with water, but, as the name suggests, the surface is dry. Anyways, this sounds super intriguing and as you say, I shall watch their career with great interest 👀

This is the most amazing in depth review of this line. I appreciate your explanation of the spectral shine. I didn’t get it either but your dive into is so spot on! I like to apply things with fingers since I have rosacea and most brushes irritate my skin. I didn’t know how to get this item to work for me and since passed it along to someone else. I’m also in the process of a move and I’m finally getting to this amazing video! So thorough and well done. You are spot on about wanting makeup “just to touch it.” So often I just want to see if the packaging is weighted and see what the texture feels like and see what it smells like. When the feel matches my expectations, it’s amazing, but it oftentimes doesn’t. That actually why I don’t end up buying much from online-only brands. I like to go into a store and actually feel it. A lot of times, that is enough to discourage me from actually buying a thing, either because the product has a disappointing texture or weight, or I was satisfied enough from holding and swatching it once

I highly recommend Wild Oak to you, Hannah, since I know you love the Victoria Beckham eyeliner in Bronze so much and they're extremely complimentary shades (I have both!). They're that perfect slightly olive-like bronze, but the eyeliner is slightly darker so they work together really well without being too similar. Also, totally with you re: the Spectral Shine. Mine is the only Phytosurgence product I own that I find disappointing. It's just so dry that I feel like I get very little payoff even after swirling and buffing as is recommended. The time + work involved plus the fact that I'm always anxious that it's going to move my base product makes it so that I rarely ever reach for mine. I'm glad so many people adore them though!

The Spectral Shine Radiance Balms seems geared towards someone with oily skin. I dislike putting super creamy or oily makeup products on my face and prefer my makeup to set down/fully dry down because my natural oils slowly softens the makeup throughout the day. Putting more emollient products on my already emollient face is similar to NOT dusting flour over the table when you are rolling out cookies: it turns into a sticky mess! Even when my skin is “dry” (I’d say dehydrated is more accurate), I still have a light layer of oil on the top layer of skin. In the future, I’ll have to try out this highlighter balm. First I must use my current highlighters!
@BlackThorndRose2 жыл бұрын
The Spectral Shines are definitely interesting. However, the way it looks on my skin is like nothing else out there, and I say that in the best way possible. I have never found another highlighter/glow type product that not only doesn’t enhance texture on my face, but blurs it away so effectively and adds such a beautiful glow. The blurring effect alone makes this my stand out favorite product from the brand. I think those who constantly struggle with texture on the face will find this product of great value. I’ve also recently seen on their Instagram that you can set the under eye with this product. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m excited to see what the results would be and how it would wear throughout the day.

And it’s not because I got bored, I have serious skin issues and I’m often returning items because they irritated me. The Verdant Forcefield sounds quite similar to my favorite moisturizer-skin/makeup prep hybrid the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre. It's INCREDIBLE and a staple in my working kit. It sounds like Verdant could be a great accompaniment in my kit (and for myself!) for people with combo, normal, or just a bit less oily (I like Embryolisse's matte moisturizer for very oily skin). Will HAVE to give this a try (along with their other products for myself and my kit😂)! I'm ADDICTED to skin prep in my own routine and also professionally. I do the exact thing with my dried out Glazen Eye Gloss. I was curious if I could pick up the glitter so I swirled my brush like that and it’s like what you described. Bad for wallet cuz I was wait for the rest to dry out but if I can buy it already made…

The highlighters look like the ones from the Nars Overlust palette. They’re similar in that they’re so solid and I need to go in with quite a firm brush to pick them up. But they end up looking beautiful and natural on the skin.

Yes!!! You described why I want so much makeup similar to things I own 10 times over so well. I want to get my greedy, makeup loving fingers into it. I'm not thinking I want to wear a pink blush or plum eyeshadow I'm wanting to play with the new thing.

Hi Hannah! I’m curious now that some time has passed if you’ve experienced the blushes expiring. The eyeshadows have lasted incredibly well for me but I noticed the blushes seemed a little off/maybe some white specs on top. Can’t tell if that’s just the ingredients or something I should be concerned about! Of course I don’t expect you to know what’s going on with mine, but curious if you’ve experienced anything similar with yours! ❤

i absolutley HATE the feeling of product on my skin so much so that i can barley deal with foundation so this highlighter is like the DREAM formula for me! Also the truth is , people buy 10 different blue eyeshadows because of sexy ads, beauty youtube and tiktok and the excitement of getting and opening new things. Very few ppl care that much about the tactile experience

Fighting the urge to buy multiple colors before trying with your conscious consumer words echoing in my ears, but these look so dreamy. Textures of ganache and mochi? And vegan? I limited myself to one of each for now with the jammy Fervor blush, Chilled Cherry eyeshadow, and the Verdant Forcefield. I can't wait to play! I'm curious about your thoughts on using the Verdant Forcefield under vs over your SPF, especially when you'll be layering makeup on top?
