I have an afghan that I've already started and the repeats are 8 + 3 (139 total). How would you suggest incorporating this stitch if I have 8.5 repeats for it?

I love the design and colors of the blanket in your picture for this video. I would love to make one for my mother. Could you possibly continue the other two designs onto this piece to show us how to continue in inset?

The next pattern (Part 2 of the CAL) will be in issue 111 of Simply Crochet magazine, which is due on sale in the UK next week. I'm afraid there won't be videos for that, but the charts are very easy to follow once you have got the hang of Part 1. You simply work the blanket in 1 piece - the part 2 inset pattern simply continues on top of the Part 1 overlay pattern. Hope this helps x

Are there any all inset mosaic blanket and table runner patterns that can be bought on the net? I want to make these two things but prefer all inset from start to finish. Thanks in advance

I have several inset mosaic patterns in my Ravelry store - some are written for blankets, and one is a wrap, but they could all easily be adapted to make blankets or table runners www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/rosina-crochets/patterns xx

Thank you for sharing this video. I've been watching so many different ones lately and yours is very easy to understand. I do have a question, though, with all of those chains on the back side of, say if you were making a blanket, how do you keep them from getting snagged?
@RosinaCrochets
@RosinaCrochets 4 ай бұрын
I try to keep any runs of trs as short as possible in my inset designs, so the chains aren't too long, and personally I have never had any issues with snagging x

May I know the difference between Overlay and Inset Mosaic please? I'm a little confused with these two terms being a new Mosaic Crochet learner / beginner.
@RosinaCrochets
@RosinaCrochets 2 жыл бұрын
Basically: overlay mosaic is worked on RS only, changing colours and cutting yarn every row; for inset mosaic you work 2 rows in each colour, turning every row and carrying yarn up the side. The way the pattern is created is slightly diferent for both techniques too. The easiest way to see the differences is probably to watch both videos, or you might want to take a look at the basic tutorial on my website www.rosinaplane.com/mosaiccrochet xx

Do you just publish in simply crochet magazine please?
@RosinaCrochets
@RosinaCrochets 3 жыл бұрын
No, I have also had patterns published in Crochet Now magazine, and I also have a Ravelry store (www.ravelry.com/designers/rosina-plane) and a few patterns listed on Etsy and LoveCrafts. If you are asking about Magic Carpet specifically, that is currently only available in the magazine, or via the Ravelry link in my previous reply. I will eventually release the pattern myself, but this won't be until next year. xx

I just purchased a pattern (my 1st time doing inset) and they call the drop down stitch a “spike” stitch.
@RosinaCrochets
@RosinaCrochets 11 ай бұрын
Different designers may use different terms to refer to the same thing, but in my terminology, Spike Mosaic is slightly different to Inset mosaic. For Spike mosaic you don't have any chain spaces and you work your drop down dcs OVER 2 rows of scs (US terms). For Inset mosaic you would generally work your dcs IN FRONT OF 2 rows of chains xxx

For a blanket how many stitch i would have to use? i thought about 7x16- 116+4+1=121 ?
@RosinaCrochets
@RosinaCrochets 12 күн бұрын
It really depends on the yarn weight you choose, the size you want your finished blanket to be, and your personal tension. I always recommend making a small gauge swatch, as that will help you make the necessary calculations x

Hi, I'm Just starting to learn how to do mosaic crochet. I went into raverly to get the chart, it gave men a 404 message that they couldn't find the site. Can you give me another ip address to your site?

Hi Tena, the chart for this is part of a paid pattern www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/magic-carpet-5 However I do have a free mosaic crochet tutorial, which also has supporting videos, and you can download the chart / written instructions for that from my website at www.rosinaplane.com/mosaiccrochet xx

I didn't film those, as the technique is exactly the same as the previous rows - you just need to follow the chart (which can be obtained from www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/magic-carpet-cal---part-1) xx

Hi I don’t understand why you do three or four Chains is not connected to your Your work piece
@RosinaCrochets
@RosinaCrochets 3 жыл бұрын
The chains are needed to bridge the gap left by skipping stitches. You always do 1 more chain than the number of sts you are skipping to stop your work bunching up xx
@FrogAtPond
@FrogAtPond Жыл бұрын
@@RosinaCrochets i was wondering the same thing! what if my chains are pretty loose though? personally i use a smaller size hook for my starting chains bc they're very loose. i don't like how wobbly it looks on the back (in my case), so I've started to work the same amount of chains as skipped stitches and it looks better - no bunching up for me. so i guess it really just depends on your tension?
@RosinaCrochets
@RosinaCrochets Жыл бұрын
Most people chain tighter than the other stitches, but if you chain loosely you can indeed drop the extra chain x
