Ryan Serhant began his first day in the real estate business on September 15, 2008 - the same day that Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy in the wake of the subprime mortgage collapse. While the real estate sector has steadily recovered, Serhant himself has quickly become one of the most successful brokers in the world, with agents under his leadership in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and the Hamptons. The Serhant Team has been named by WSJ Real Trends as the #1 real estate team in New York for two years in a row, and the #2 team in the country, selling close to $1 billion in real estate last year. Ryan is consistently the youngest broker to make the Journal’s top ten list each year.
Ryan stars in the popular Bravo series “Million Dollar Listing New York,” which just wrapped its seventh season. On September 18, 2018 - the week of his 10-year anniversary in real estate - he will debut his first book, Sell It Like Serhant. When pre-sales were announced, Ryan was #1 on Amazon’s daily list of “Movers and Shakers.” As star and producer, this year he also debuted his new Bravo show, "Sell It Like Serhant," started a successful vlog ( / ryanserhant ) and launched an app (Agent Empire: NYC). There is nothing Ryan can't do. His motto communicates his professional and personal philosophy, "Expansion. Always. In all ways."

@@victormenendez1983 thats what everybody says. However "nothing" means different things to people. Being a Asian and Pakistani, it hits me on totally different level when I see people living in West (esp. US) who don't live with their parents and sort of lack that deep/close connection with their parents. But I guess that's what they call cultural shock and its nice to see people from all around the world who are so different yet so similar.

When you said you were broke I thought like us, Ramen broke...
@pequodexpress
@pequodexpress 4 жыл бұрын
The boy has never known "Ramen broke." For this "self-made" charlatan, Daddy has paid for elite private schools from the cradle to adulthood, no stress of paying his own way, hence his father's "most expensive art collection." There is nothing wrong with coming from privilege, but there is something wrong with a charlatan selling financial advice without acknowledging the many ways Daddy paved his way. I'm now curious to know the background on Serhant's grandparents. If Serhant had failed to find gainful employment in NYC, his prospects were not to go back to the ranch with his tail between his legs, bale hay, and mend fences on the back forty, as he likes to pretend in his carefully curated marketing of his "rags-to-riches" story. No, his Daddy, John Serhant, former vice chairman of the hedge fund State Street Global Advisors, one of the world's largest asset managers, with around $3 trillion in holdings, would have set him up as a portfolio manager in Boston, Massachusetts, which is exactly what Daddy has done for younger brother Jack. Nepotism is great. Flaunt it if you've got it. Let's just separate reality from theater, no matter how well the faux "rags-to-riches" schtick plays out in Poughkeepsie. I would love to see the NY apartment Serhant was living in when he claimed his debit card was cancelled or had a zero balance and how exactly that apartment was funded. But none of this reality is a story that monetizes easily. I am surprised there has not been more in-depth reporting of Serhant's actual circumstances. The media are complicit in trying to spin the U.S. as a classless society: it pacifies the rabble and keeps the _Pequod_ ambling on.

When you are actually poor the last thing you'd be thinking of is getting your real estate license. Especially having to take unpaid internships for example. No one being actually broke has the ability to work somewhere just in order to learn your profession and extend your network in the meantime.

just because your parents have money doesn't mean they will give you a ton for no reason. Smart parents let their kids be independent so they can actually become something and that's easier if you do the work which you'll have to if you don't have a lot

@@MadBurner1 agreed! I go broke right now and all my mom has for me is "words of encouragement" lol. Hi Ryan, it is really a different feeling seeing your dad giving a tour of their home,especially with their son, you, as a successful property agent beside. Your dad very spontaneous and energetic too when following your instruction how to end the show. So cute. The house for 2.4 million is reasonable with such a beautiful nature and if not in hurry to sell, should keep it as holiday resort for grandchildrens to play around and gathering. Simple but cosy with peaceful and amazing nature around. Memory lane to bring back close to heart happy and wonderful sweet memories as kids when our parents were younger and more energetic. Should treasure every moment and spend time as much as possible as day by day as they grow older. Cheers and blessed to you and your dad and mum.

Such a beautiful place, I would be there every chance I get to get away from the hectic life you have in nyc. Your children would have such good memories spending time there

Oh I love this. First the house is just fabulous with all that land. Your parents are adorable. I love how you came out of your expensive suits. You look more relaxed. Great video

Geez Ryan, I said it once I'll say it again. Get your parents to keep it and go enjoy that place with your daughter!! Great place to get back to the basics, teach her about real work, nature and breathe some fresh air! I mean come on... it's only a flight away for you and your family to go spend quality time. Looks like an awesome place to have annual family reunions!

Wow all I could think about while watching this is that you haven’t been back to your parents house for 10 years!!!! Imagine your child not visiting their childhood home in 10 years???

Children of rich parents feel the pressure to earn their cash and work harder because the bars are high . Children of poor parents do not have any bars set and can easily settle for less . So he is self made he had extra motivation to be better than his dad . He works really really hard
