"So, what do you call this then darl"? "A shed" "Yeah, but it's what you've done with it!" I just saw this on Apple TV & fell completely in love. I had a physically perceivable rush of endorphines seeing the beauty & practicality so seamlessly intertwined in this magnificent home. I particularly love the look of the kitchen, as that is my area of expression in our home. The huge windows, the sliding walls, the gardens & greenhouse areas, I love it all. I even felt a touch of nostagia seeing the cow being milked & the pigs being fed, from childhood dairy farm experiences. Just superb! 🙂🙂❤❤

I really wanted not to like this video when i first saw that hideous hangar structure. But, as the video unfolded it started to make more and more sense. Ok, it is an actual farm, they have an inside garden, the enormous roof helps collect water for the garden, the space functions as a workshop, as an airbnb, as a residence... it started to make more sense. When I saw how beautifully the structure was lit from the inside at night, with shapes of trees and plants glowing through the semi-transparent walls, I gave it a like.

Don’t forget it is in a harsh area of Australia, always threatened by fires and storms. A building out on the landscape Like that needs to suit the environment.

I've never seen anything like this before and I think it's fantastic. The way the building facilities the programme and all of that landscape together is clearly very well thought out. There looks to be lots of beautiful little details in there too, particularly the brickwork in the bathroom and some of the joinery.

Timothy Hill tutored and lectured my architecture class at UQ, as well as designed the freestanding architecture studio workshop extension to the faculty, at UQ he is our ‘god’ and his various designs of all types of buildings are clear standouts and the most memorable, striking, and important in QLD. It’s great to see his reach expanding across the country. From luxury private homes through to the state library, his structures are epic!

Is there a longer video on this house? It's fantastic and definately deserves a much longer video! Id book the airbnb in a heartbeat if it wasn't on the other side ofbthe planet! I love mindful innovation in architecture with purpose, utility, grace and the environment at the center. Seems there is much to learn from just a visit here. Very cool this place was intentionally created to bring people together in the middle of the unobstructed land. 😍

Sustainable, affordable and low-footprint housing for the masses - finally solved!.... "a millionaire, who instead of building a palazzo in the city built a shed on a farm" Hurray!?
@JHZech Жыл бұрын
I do appreciate the aesthetics, but this isn't exactly what I would call sustainable living. One home is taking up a huge amount of space and would need materials shipped from afar since it's also far from the city. Some of the earlier works on this channel including townhouses in the city center are much more sustainable despite having less nature directly around them.
