Sometimes synchronicity stunns me! I too had a little makers shop, several years ago, on Bearskin Neck in Rockport MA, USA. I called it "Gray Mares" because it had hitching horse head posts at the foot of the entrance stairs. They were all rusted and pitted. In dolling up the shop in preparation for opening, I sanded them down to the bare metal, primer painted them to withstand the salt air on the jetty and carefully oil painted them as gray mares. They came out quite pretty... but I didn't make any money either Kate. I am not sure I totally recovered from my 'financial disaster' as I can't laugh and joke about it yet like you do. Perhaps soon... because, you are an inspiration, as always.

My daughter and I put many of your old videos on and had a great time watching you (for the second time) clean out your big drawer and now the suitcase with the wonderful horses - I can’t stand the thought of you giving these away - I can see Agnes and other grandchildren being delighted by them in future years. Kate I wish you could see my bunting. After I saw your horses I cut life size salmon, small polar bear, black bear, two wolves, and moose. The weather is warmer so I hung some of them on my porch. You inspire me all the time!

Love your horses! Put them in a carousel- goes around and around! great inside a shop or a birthday or Christmas-! Fun can with a Zebra horse called Zero!Put fabrics for horse tail and hair on the head! bunch of accessories! something for hooves! bells and a cat ride a horse

Kate Your horses are so cute! You should start a suitcase for your Granddaughter. Add a few of your favorite things every now and again, you'll have a full one to give her when shes older. Of course you'll need to put a horse in it, so keep a pretty one to start off her case. TFS your memories! Hugs!

I have my mother’s button box which, I too, played with as a child. I now have a button box of my own and it will go along with my mother’s to my daughter. Never have known anyone who didn’t enjoy a button box 🥰

Hi Kate. Such arduous work you do but pleasurable for us to see! Idea #1 - attach a horse to the front of a note book. #2 attach to a gift for someone. #3 package a few in a see through bag, staple closed with a price tag. I'm sure there are crafters out there who would love to use them!

It never ceases to amaze me how incredibly creative you are. Like a girl with paper dolls, you have shared these beautiful horses with us and were just as delighted opening the suitcase. This is why I love your channel. I feel like we are all on the LGS and delighting with you. I suggest you number them 1 to 100, and when people sign in to your shop to buy, that would be their number. This way, it would be more random and you wouldn’t have two people wanting the same horse.

Oh my goodness! I had never heard of Ann Wood. I went to her website for the horse pattern and I was in that rabbit hole for quite awhile. As my son Cody would say "right up your alley Mom." Wow! thanks so much for sharing her with us. I love this episode. I've been binging for days on your podcasts but so far this is one of my favorites. I am definitely a Maker and so is my 10 year old grand daughter Chloe. The horse will be a perfect project for us to do together. But I see lots more coming. I loved the advent episode with the twiggy stars. We will make that too. I get her almost every Wednesday as her school is closed that day for extra cleaning during this COVID thing. I'm not sure I've ever commented on any of your videos before because I watch through my smart TV, but I had to let you know... I ❤ joining in on all your Homely journeys. I often binge watch all through day as I go about my tasks around the house. My home place is in a valley, but I live on a hill. I call it Grace Hill because by the grace of God I am not homeless and I pray all who come will find grace abundant when they visit. My given name is Dianne. I absolutely love these horses. My 7 yr old ogranddaughter loves horses. I will start homeschooling her this summer. The idea of making your horses to represent each State of our nation USA, came to me this evening. She will learn all about a new state each week. The state capitals and the year the state became a part of our nation, along with interesting facts of each State. I had to express how much I appreciate that you share with us your many talents in such a lovely, calming manner. I have enjoyed your video series of opening your Mum's suitcases as well as the other suitcases also. My Mother passed with covid in September of 2021. It's so difficult opening her chest and boxes, not knowing what I will behold. You have inspired me to take it slow and allow the emotions and affections to be as they come. Thank you, Dear Lady.

Horse with no name, song sounded like Neil Young but actually done by a band called ‘America’. A DJ that played their songs said they were the band that ripped off Neil Young. I love your horses. I used to have horses and miss having them. Horses and cats are the most beautiful creatures. You could call the new map horse Rex, what you have when you take away the ‘B, I and T’ from Brexit. That fits I think since horses are happier without the ‘bit’ in their mouths.

Another Ann Wood design! I've made many of the horses with my grandsons. They are so much fun. I usually use cereal box cardboard or I get some inserts at work that come on a cardboard backing. I put the inserts in the law volumes and save the cardboard for horses. :)
