I am in awe at your technique each beautiful scene. The brushwork, manipulation of color, and well balanced portrayal of feeling you perceive makes me smile and practice over and over the backs of my paintings. I will fill the entire page in one of your strokes I watched a million times in slow motion. Funny thing also I majored five years in architecture at Auburn university. After becoming disabled almost a year ago at 41 I started taking my watercolor very serious and have to say I am happier now than I ever have been. If my disability check ever gets approved I’m gonna save up and roll my ass to some workshops you are teaching. Thank you so much for helping me from your art when I needed it the most. Much respect.

I am so grateful for your message. It moved me deeeply. And while I can't pretend to know what you've gone through physically and emotionally, I can only say that for me, artwork has been a salvation - a bridge from some very dark days to much brighter ones now and yet to come. Art can heal and in it you can build amazing worlds where life can be whatever we want it to be. Be well. Stay strong. Thanks again and happy painting!

Is this inspired by memory? I sense a real fondness for the home in this scene. Lovely, as always.

Heh. It's kind of funny how the viewer can sort of overwrite the artists own narrative with that of their personal experiences. I've got a whole story thought up in my head about your visiting this place 😄🙄 if you meant to evoke an emotion, and inspire imagination, your aim was achieved.

@@morgenmachen2400 That's great - And that's my primary hope. - that people find their own meaning in my work. I can have whatever direction I want, but it's so much better when viewers are inspired to make their own narrative, and use their own unique imaginations!

Hi, I'm doing a project about you at school and I would need some information about you. Would you be so kind to tell me that information or where I could see/find it? - Date of birth - How did you decide to dedicate yourself to this world of art/architecture? Thank you very much.

@@thomaswschaller thank you! Studying your work, and I repainted with quin gold (although I'm aware it's not on your palette), burnt Sienna, a little alizarin for warmth above the horizon line, cobalt teal, French ultramarine, imperial purple and neutral tint. May I ask where you used the brown? It was an absolute pleasure to watch - then trying my hand is immeasurably educational for me. I hope to own one of your originals some day. Thank you deeply for uploading here on KZbin.

@@morgenmachen2400 I used the Van Dyke Brown for the darkest bits instead of Neutral Tint

@@thomaswschaller I see that now. The result is I'm sure much more rich than I can see on my screen or in my painting. Although I've noted several versions of your palette I didn't know you used Van Dyke Brown. Could you point me towards current info? Maybe an interview or blog? Thank you for being so kind to reply, by the way!
