Especially the newer Chinook ones with a lot of upgrades. Can land on sides of hills on just one end & the rest of the Chinook is hanging off the hill/mountain.

@user-tr6mm7dp7u That's definitely a feat to see achieved 😎 I grew up in an aviation family. 3 uncles flew little birds in Vietnam. After the war 2 of them were and one still is a veteran Logging/firefighting pilot. My father was the lead fuel mechanic with Erickson aircrane for 22yrs.

I live a stones throw from Boeing Vertol in Essington...I did a roof for one of the designers for the Chinook...The government bean counters have been trying to eliminate that program for decades...It's an amazing piece of machinery...I hope they never replace it...

6:26 The K-MAX rotors are synchronized mechanically, not electronically, as in both rotors are powered from a single linkage to the engine. It is physically impossible for the rotors to hit each other under normal operations (as in any rotor damage could cause contact). Electronic synchronization would provide a possibility of failure.

When I heard them say electronically I thought no way they would do that. One computer glitch and it would crash they must be mechanically synchronized so they cant hit. Thanks for confirming

I flew ones, in a French Alouette helicopter, it's pretty much a glass bulb with a tail, and the moment I sat in the thing, I could see under my feet the ground, my friend took off, first spinning around and then goes up, but with the bulb almost touching the ground, man, I don't have anxiety from highs, but this was a strange feeling. Though I was happy with the experience.

@@bcanuck Counter rotation or torque steer, by slowing one rotor just perceptibly, the aircraft will turn with the faster rotor much the same is used to steer a 4 rotor drone these days. The more you slow the rotor, the faster the turn.

I really like Robinson helecopter but I wish the shell looked more sleek I’m not keen of the back cab design or even the front they should synchronize it with the tail all in one if they change that design there sales will even be better then they are right now …just my opinion

Airbus are absolutely overpriced! A … washer priced at 25 usd? Special screws all over the place… Get a Bell or MD and you can use the screws from a Cessna for 50p instead paying 75 dollars! And the Fenestron just sucks… you’d better don’t get in hot and high environments or get a tail wind!

Chinook has torque along the fuselage problems when one rotor is doing more than the other like when the heli pitches up.

Okay... 1st off that Kaman aircraft or however the heck it is spelt... SHOULD NOT BE A THING. that is the most dangerous helicopter i have ever seen. that thing looks like Dori From Nemo and its a DUAL BLADED HELICOPTER??? like WHAT!? one rotor has an engine failer or slows down or becomes out of sync what so ever those blades are going to smack each other and down goes the helicopter. That is the MOST UNSAFE HELI IN THE WORLD! NOT OK. how is it approved? The chinook is even better designed that DORI wtf.
