I would sure buy one. My 460 is a BLAST to drive with the T19 four-speed, I would surely appreciate twice the torque and twice the gears. But alas, nobody else wants them. Everybody wants a start button, a stop pedal, and a go pedal. People today don't care about the full communication and understanding with a vehicle that a manual transmission allows. It started with Ferrari's CEO stating "The benefits of a manual transmission are superficial at best, and at worst rob the engine of its power." Now, we know that in reality, torque converters do that, but that's fine. Ferraris never last past 40,000 miles anyway. The problem is people are basically worthless these days.

@@Cheezeball99999 You are right about that part - they do not care about the guy who buys it after it is 20 years old. As for your arguments about manual versus automatic, I love rowing gears myself. That said, the current technologies for automatics actually make them superior to a manual for efficiency, performance, reliability, emissions and more. They have gotten very expensive to manufacture, though.

I patiently waited for the first gen 7.3 in 2020. Owned my f250 7.3 Tremor for 2 yrs now. It is clearly mechanically engineered to be superior to anything in its class. It lacks all the weak points of GM LT 6.6 series and Hemis 392. It has no weakness, no stupid MDS, no direct injection and as a perk also the highest hp and tq ratings in its class. Easy money and unstressed to boot. Does extremely well under a load. Far better than any gas HD ive ever had. Whats better? The Windsor plant committed to building the 5.0, 6.8 and 7.3 in Windsor till 2040.

430 hp, so we know its putting 500hp at the flywheel and its flowing about 240 CFM at the valve. Guessing the cylinder head Intake Ports are +/- 230 cc. Those are decent "initial" #'s as the supercharger and turbo guys are gonna want larger cc heads. Questions are: 1) When will a 6 spd manual, or more gears, be offered and not just for the trucks but also for the hot rodder crowd? 2) Will Ford offer a stand alone wiring harness ECM kit 3) When can we expect SVT heads and Camshafts? ***Ford, if you dont fill this hot rodder void...the aftermarket crowd will ;)

@@roncook8566 They're no where near extremely similar. They're not even close to similar period. Intake ports are at a completely different angle. So much different, the intake sits flat on top of the intake ports. The valve angle is obviously different and while it isn't an aggressive canted valve design. It's still noticeable by just looking at them. The exhaust valves are much larger for this reason. 1.67 if I remember correctly. The valve spring height and design is different (taller springs). The injectors are in the head. So with all of these important things different. How can you possibly say they're extremely similar? I don't want to be a dick but you sound delusional making that statement. The only thing that's really similar, their both made from aluminum and the coils packs are mounted on the valve covers.

@@Cheezeball99999 They assuredly made marketing decisions based on the reputation of the old 7.3 Navistar. That said - Ford has repeatedly made some hand waving claims about the displacement of the new motor being determined by their power and torque versus efficiency goals. I do not believe that to be anything except smoke and mirrors telling you to ignore the man behind the mirror. I expect that almost none of the buyers of these trucks will be foolish enough to put diesel in them based on the displacement. Since this is targeted toward fleet buyers, however... ...let us just say that the buyer and the user might not be the same person.

The 7.3 diesel has been gone for 17 years now. The 6.7 is well publicized as being Fords diesel when you take a walk through a show room, and speak with a salesman. If you buy a $50K+ truck new, not understanding the new 7.3 engine in it is gas powered, you need to have your check book taken away, and a mental health evaluation. It’s just a displacement number. With over 100 years of engine production, and the last 40 of it being measured in liters, repeating the same displacement number (which is allot easier to do using liters over cubic inches) with an all together different engine is bound to happen. If they made it a 7.4L, or a 7.2L, I’m sure there’d also be people who would be screaming that Ford’s just trying to steal GM or Chrysler’s thunder from some of their old displacements.

What is the cylinder bore wear, taper and out-of-round after 3200 hours which at most probably means 100,000 miles for a *work truck"? Compression? Cylinder leakdown? Valve/guide wear? Cam wear? What is the oil consumption? Oil capacity, service grade/viscosity requirement and change interval? How about brake specific fuel consumption and/or horsepower-hours per gallon? What octane fuel is "recommended" and/or "required"? Is it a "Flex-Fuel" vehicle? Gasoline Ford "big-blocks" have always been horrendous fuel hogs at best and at worst if you don't/didn't have at least 30 gallons of capacity a "big-block" Ford being "worked" with any significant "payload" and 50% of the truck's GVWR at 55 mph or more on the "highway" you couldn't get in one at 8 a.m. with a full stomach and fuel tank and need lunch before you needed gas. May as well get up and get going an hour early, skip breakfast and figure on "brunch" about 10:30 at the latest and be looking for a food/fuel stop before you're 200 miles down the road.
