I went to Mahatma Gandhi's final ashram located in the village of Sevagram in Maharashtra. Sevagram was to serve as an ashram and centre for community living and self-sufficiency.
Sevagram (सेवाग्राम), meaning "village of service" in Hindi, holds historical significance as the residence of Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of India's non-violent independence movement.
Located near Wardha in the state of Maharashtra, Sevagram served as Gandhi's ashram, a centre for community living and self-sufficiency.
Established in 1936, the ashram aimed to embody the principles of simple living, harmony, and non-violence. Today, Sevagram stands as a memorial and museum, preserving the spirit of Gandhi's teachings and offering visitors a glimpse into the life and philosophy of one of the world's most influential leaders.
The serene surroundings and the ashram's commitment to service continue to inspire people from around the globe.

Your all too short video conveyed an overwhelming feeling of peace and love to me. I believe that Gandhi is what in ancient times would have been referred to as a God or Angel, born of this Earth to make the world a better, more inclusive, safer place. He was the epitome of 'good', not only in his philosophies, in his words but also his actions. We (the human race) can still learn so much from him.

Thank you Karl, for the wonderful tour. I always have had the greatest respect for Gandhi, MLK, Mother Teresa......the majority of these great people have all been assassinated....because of fear ....fear of the holy ones who saw the path clearly, and walked it. I have always thought of the things they could have done if they would have lived longer.....Thank you again Karl!

@@atlanticza Happy to explain that and also tree trunks are painted red and white so that, these trees can be easily seen in the darkness of the night because of white as the light falls on the white colour its bright enough to notice it and in broad daylight because of the red colour.

6:55 I was really at a loss for #11 removal of untouchability. Looking it up it's a bit confusing as it seems to apply to multiple things, Hygiene seems to be one, but also removal of people in society that are "untouchable" as well, i guess meaning all humans to be treated the same and that no one should be untouchable. Sadly this is something we have failed to do in a modern society, especially in the west and in the USA. Corporate leaders and politicians and presidents are simply untouchable and do just about anything they want for personal gain and at the expense of others. politicians and corporate leaders rule us and run our lives yet have no idea what it's like to live as a normal person. There is a lot I like about Hinduism despite not being a religious person in their teachings, I feel like they are one of the few religions that focus far more on peace and treating everyone equally then other religions in the world. I'm not much of a historian but just about every other religion throughout history has been largely responsible for deaths, wars, anti-human rights movements trying to control other people's lives telling them what they can or cannot do, anti-science stifling innovation for thousands of years, and it's sad. People still worship those religions in mass despite all the bad history behind them. I have not however heard much as far as damage or harm caused by Hinduism, the "No worship without sacrifice" part gives me pause though, making me wonder what people had to deal with back in the day regarding that line, but overall if I was forced to pick a religion and had no choice otherwise, Hinduism would be probably my top pick for the most peaceful of them.
