Is this dyneema material? In Japan, it is widely used as a waterproof material, but there are many problems with water leaking.

Thanks for watching many of my videos :) Yes, it is! I'm super impressed with this material, and I didn't have any problems with leaking on the one trip I took so far. I was hoping to go backpacking with it again soon, but I've been so busy launching my online store and creating my calendar. Shooting videos took a backseat for a while, but hopefully not much longer.

We have seen many cases of Dyneema materials leaking after six months. There seem to be different types of Dyneema, and DCF is the material that most often leaks.

@@hellanguy-JAPAN Oh wow, that's not a long time at all. I really expected more from it, especially since the durability is hyped so much. I guess time will tell. Thanks for the warning. I will keep an eye on it.

@@adventuresandreams The CDF, which is said to be stronger than steel, also has its pros and cons. If it is weak against sharp objects, the problem can be solved by laying a footprint on it.

Well you ruined yourself now. Once you carry a Dyneema tent it's hard to go back to a regular weight tent. Enjoyed the video.

Ha, thanks for watching! You are right. The weight difference is ridiculous, and I will only take the bigger tents when I'm canoe camping or perhaps car camping out in the dessert or so. Otherwise there is no reason to take so much extra weight! I just came back from my 4-day backpacking trip yesterday, and I have to say that the much smaller space took a little time to adjust to, and It was "raining" condensation in it one morning, but otherwise the tent was great. More to come in my next videos from the trip and the Mid 1 itself :)

@@adventuresandreams Yes the condensation gets bad in my Dyneema tents and I keep a wipe cloth just for that. I also opted for 2p so I had more room to avoid my bag touching the walls which helps.

@@boutthere3374 I was truly debating to get a 2p tent as well, but I wanted to cut back on weight as much as possible. I definitely learned my condensation lesson quickly and used my packtowl as well. I also started putting my cloths into the bag that I use to fill up the sleeping pad, which helped. Maybe the slightly bigger tent would have been a better choice, though :D What Dyneema tents do you have?

@@adventuresandreams I have the zpacks 2P Camo Duplex(17.9oz)(the camo is no longer available and I also have the 2p zpacks free standing free duo (30oz with poles) no longer available but they do have a new free standing tent in its place. I also have a zpacks dyneema tarp 8.5'x10' (6.9oz) and that goes with me always. I just happened to buy zpacks first off but any quality brand is putting out good dyneema gear. I've never wished I had less space in a tent.

@@boutthere3374 Ah, great tents by the look of it. Maybe I will regred getting the 1P tent, but I found a pretty good "order" at the end of my trip. Nice tarp you have there as well. I'm currious, do you use a groundcloth with your tents? I always have, but did not buy one for this one. It seems to be ok, but I haven't been in mody places yet with the tent. Btw, do you follow me of FB? I just posted some trip photos there. But I should actually also put them in my community tab. Anyway, thanks for the info. :)
