This gives me a sense of traveling into the stories that my parents would tell. North Korean life today is exactly the same as China during the Cultural Revolution where my parents grew up. The similarities are incredible. They definitely have more technology and style nowadays but the overall system and structure is the same. Even the song in the background sounds like the songs that my parents grew up listening to and singing...and I can sing them too because I've heard them so much and we sing them on karaoke all the time.

To set the record straight, the Tu-204 is the only aircraft Air Koryo operates that is allowed into EU airspace as of 2021. Some of its flights are active occasionally to Kuala Lumpur. and Kuwait City. Scheduled services are only operated from Pyongyang to Beijing, Chongjin, Macau, Samjiyon, Shenyang, and Vladivostok; additional destinations not listed on their website but showing up elsewhere as charters or seasonal charter services are also included. There have been only two crashes since Air Koryo began in 1950 which resulted in the deaths of passangers on board, the other two resulted only in light damage to the aircraft.

Probably because the cabins aren't filled with questionably overweight people.
@saijugeorge5816

Also it's because Air Koryo has less people on each flight on average and the plane is an average plane size, so they didn't really need extra seats like other planes, giving the passengers more leg room.

Thank you, Sam. Coming from the birth country of those airplanes, I only had a chance to fly on Ilyushin-62 and Tupolev-154 (and an Ilyushin-86 widebody which was not in this review of yours). It's actually incredible that they've kept these planes flying. Some of those were built in the 1960's in the Soviet Union and I can't imagine there's a lot of parts left for Soviet aircraft that haven't been made for decades.
@southjerseysound7340
@southjerseysound7340 5 жыл бұрын
There's more parts than you'd think.I recently did a job in Bulgaria scrapping and cataloging parts from 14 aircraft and there's about 35 left to do. Most of them had very few hours too. I hate to say it but I'm pretty sure they'll be "washed" through certain countries and possibly end there but who knows. All I know is I appreciated the work.

A lot of the U.S airforce planes were built in the 60's that are still in use today. B-52's kc-135's, rc-135's ect.. As long as they are maintained correctly they can fly safely for decades. Though it does suck to work on them because they are always breaking lol...

Both are sung by Ri Kyong-Suk. 😊 The very last song at the end is called “아리랑” or “Arirang” which is a centuries old classic korean folk song. This version is also sung by Ri Kyong-Suk!
