Just finished watching and was wondering if you'd got it! Did it feel like you were shop lifting? I would feel like that I think lol. Great vlog, looked like a really good store for cities and commuters, say in stations or airports. I was also wondering how do they stop underage people taking the alcohol? Does an alarm go off based on your details? Looked like a lovely store!

My biggest reservation is not knowing how much I've spent, then having to wait yonks to find out, I'd be in a permanent state of anxiety. I agree !👍Waitrose & M&S are far much better priced than even Trader Joe's ! Almost like 99cent store in a sense !! I mean ,I've watched another vloger showing £ 1 ea for fresh ORGANIC produces like 🥦 !!! WOW 👏😮 I really wish if we have those groceries here & MEAL DEAL like London does !! Here in L.A. ,everything is super expensive 😫 ,the rent & everything ! 2 bedroom apartments/ flats are $2,800 the average !! 1 bedroom is around $2,000 !!! Lol. The least is $1,600? Lol. And the gas ⛽ !! I only buy organic produces, so ...! Lol. I used to think things were so ~cray cray expensive in London ( from my own experience in the 80's !! Lol. ) ,then everything was super cheap here ,now totally flipped !!! LOLLOLLOL. On top of that ,they've got a much better medical system there ! Lol.💜🥁🎵🎤🎶🐉💞

Welcome back Hannah!!! I'm sure you've seen from all the worried comments how much everyone's missed you. Fascinating vlog of the new Amazon concept. I have to say, I am a bit more ambivalent than you are about it and not just because I'd walk out feeling like a shoplifter. Current working theory: you can tell a lot about a youtube channel by the nature of the comment section. The Hannah Ricketts Appreciation Society (HRAS?) feels like afternoon tea. Not necessarily anywhere massively grand, just somewhere deeply cosy where you think: 'oh go on then, I will have another slice of cake...'

Surprised that there wasn't more promo deals on the first day..hey you can't have everything...looked stress free for a supermarket usually they drive me insane...only grip was the length of time for the email to confirm the purchase should be instant or within minutes of you leaving the store...not great if you get home then discover you've been charged for items that you may not have purchased, then its the hassle to either call them up or go back to the shop..but could be just first day glitches,,,we have to learn to embrace new tech as its the future so may as well start to get used to it, its not going back anytime soon forward only..welcome back and congrats on 20k subs

You could always add up your totals as you go round, after all to know exactly what you are spending in any store that's what you have to do? I shop in Sainsbury's on their app so I know exactly what I've spent before reaching the checkout, no loading my shopping onto a conveyor belt then back into bags, just scan, bag, scan my phone at the till, pay and go, it's great

I love it!! There are about 26 of the Amazon Go food/grocery - San Francisco (no alcohol), Seattle, New York and Chicago. Not so many of the larger stores (ones with the carts with tablets ). They are in southern California and Illinois. A couple in Seattle and also New York are in the planning stages. Nothing close to me - I am about a 50 minute drive away from San Francisco. I will be interested to see how the prepared meals succeed/fail. Not a concept that did well here when first introduced by Tesco 10 years ago when they opened their Fresh and Easy neighborhood supermarkets. I also do not think American shoppers were ready to try so much Tesco own brand food items. As the months went by they were replaced with American name brand foods. The checkouts were contactless where you scanned your own items and then packed yourself. It confused the heck out of people and I know people avoided going in due to that “extra work”. They wanted someone to pack their groceries. We loved it!! In and out in a flash. But here we are now 10 years later with self check outs available in all supermarkets, and also in large stores like Target, and with Covid restrictions where I live if you bring in your own bags you have to pack yourself. If you want the checker to pack then pay 10 cents per paper bag. Tesco was ahead of the game.

Great video.. working in retail industry I love your store visits! All items in the shop I believe are provided by Morrisons, and the Amazon branded food also rebadged Morrisons products and many they have created exclusively for Amazon. Morrisons have been the fresh food partner for Amazon UK for a few years now.. providing and fulfilling their fresh orders. Potentially a very lucrative tie in for Morrisons. I've also read Amazon plan to sell the tech to operate these stores to any other interested retailers, apparently Lidls German stores are trialling the just walk out tech soon in some stores.

Always fascinated and very appreciative of your vlogs . We were the pioneers of 24 hour shopping in London . Yes we are that old but regardless once a retailer always .... in fact we once owned the Tesco local in Clifton Road Maida Vale then called Superfoods which you featured not long ago. My ...! food retail has certainly evolved . We had 10 shops in central London but gradually the very big boys moved in first opening on petrol station forecourts slowly eroding our bottom line but that’s competition. Now the big boys eg Sainsbury’s and the like must step up their game. It won’t happen tomorrow but eventually progress will force them to rethink and innovate . Very interesting times. Thank you again💕💕💕
