I am a British Bangladeshi, living in Canada and father of an American citizen . If that makes any sense ! I was brought up near Farm Gate ! Left Bangladesh in early 90s. During the 70s as a child my dad used to take to Farm Gate area for some fresh air and to buy fruits in late afternoon . You should Google for old photos of the area.

The vibe is amazing, but the honking and traffic chaos is too much. You are extremely patient 😊. The haleem looked good. In South Asia , avoid the added spice and garnish over the food especially if they are at room temperature or exposed to the elements. They can mess up the stomach.

Usually elderly people chew it and it's kind of addictive for those who eat it regularly. Doctors don't suggest having Paan with some ingredients.
