That is very cute. I built my fist pig farm away from base, even putting a moat around it. I was terrified of the raids. Now I turn them off, lol.

That *IS* cute! My pig farm is usually just a big palisade ring. Nothing to look at ... but it keeps the wolves away from my bacon!

This is an awesome build! And I agree that Valheim feels like you HAVE to dig a deep trench or a terrain wall to actually be able to defend your base. I am currently playing with mods and to counteract the necessity of extreme terrain defenses, simply modded the troll raids to never happen. SKÄL!!!

I like to use ha-ha walls to preserve the view, also known as sunk fences, where you slope the land around down into the wall. I also like to build my enclosures from dvergr cage walls or decorative panels so I can see in and out. This lets in a lot of sunlight creating interesting shadow patterns while keeping out the bats.

I used to use the DisableRandomEvents mod to entirely remove raids, but I've left them on for my most recent server! Still in the early/mid-game so it hasn't affected how I build much, yet...

A few corrections: 1. The 'You are being hunted' event can only happen in the Mountains and the Plains. 2. It is not the number of types of base items, that makes a base base. It is the mere number of items. Three of any base items with 42 meters from each other, and that is considered by the game engine as a base. So it'd be better to secure this lovely pigfarm against raid events, coz those will come (unless those are turned off in the world modifiers).

Ooh good points, I did not know the wolf event only happened in plains and mountains, I need to do some Valheim science with it it seems. Same for point 2, but it is not easy to test, hmm I want to know all the details though. Since I dont play on there anymore I turned off events indeed, all my bases on this seed were not protected at all :D.
