@B12 Deficient yeah I understand that argument, but I don’t think that hunting and killing an exotic species is the same as manufactured and farmed animal meat. Cows, pigs, chickens, goats, etc., are not going extinct bc of hunting or the black market trade for these animals. Pangolins, on the other hand, are being massacred and their population is being desecrated bc of these malpractices. Again, I understand where you’re coming from, but it’s really not the same.

It’s a evil scam that exploit the rich ignorant buyers at the expense of the poor animals. The blame should be on the lack of proper education… don’t let the word “tradition” fool you. @@joelpetersen2480 Deadliest? Yeah, most vicious? No, not only is saying that stupid because you're regurgitating the same garbage everyone else does but it's also dangerous because it's missing the point, humans don't hunt these animals because we enjoy it, or because of some arbitary, inherent evil in us, we hunt them because of greed, ignoring that will only cause more damage. The more you repeat ''muh hooman evil'' the less anyone will do anything about this, because it's very easy to just pretend that we're too stupid to fix things, and a lot harder to actually get out there and try to make a change, wallowing in self pity and self hatred does you no credit, nor does it help endangered animals. Poverty. Poverty drives the hunting of these. As the man said, going into the jungle is dangerous. He would not be doing it if he did not have to. You hear him thank his God several times. He needs this to survive. He doesn't know of another way to survive (and don't go into all the jobs he can do, he is not in the privileged situation to speculate. He is trying to survive). In order to reduce the poaching, reducing the need for people to hunt these vulnerable species, you have to address poverty. Employing the former hunters to protect the areas they used to hunt in might be a viable solution, but that takes investment from the country.

Remember that wildlife trafficking is not limited to butchering and selling animal parts/meat - animals are likewise sold off alive to be bought as exotic pets. Don't support social media where people keep slow loris, kinkajous, wild cats, rare wild-caught exotic reptiles, etc. They may be cute but they suffer as individuals and as a species when they are taken from their habitat for our enjoyment.

So infuriating. Every single day 10 more primates or other small wildlife pops up on social media and it's sickening. I will never understand looking at a cute monkey and thinking "OMG I totally want to force one to wear a diaper and clothes and sentence them to live in my home." It's disturbing. Not to mention, 99% of the people obtaining them are too stupid to own one. It drives me crazy.

Oh, I'm thankful to see the nuances of this story to why people traffic animals and how they do this. This is how humans treat the earth's other inhabitants, especially those that may not bring forth life from the body. This neglects come from so many areas - govt, business, community. And I'm thankful to those caring people what want to get the story out so that we do something about it.

It’s the scammers that continue to mystify “ancient alchemy” and advertise these anti-science garbage as modern “health products” aka a big part of the supplements industry. Using the “exotic” is just a marketing gimmick to lure ignorant new money to blow their wealth on empty promises…

Are you sure it was our ancestors? I have taken traditional Chinese medicine before and NEVER have we taken Rhino Horns, Pangolin Scales, Tiger whatever.... blah blah organs. Most of them are herbs that taste really bitter. I am pretty sure someone propagated the rumor that these animal parts are somewhat helpful to drive sales. It is dishonest and unethical.
@brennanwang1433
@brennanwang1433 2 жыл бұрын
Greed and stupidity. As a Chinese I can tell you that there are plenty of other herbs that can substitute things like pangolins scales, tiger bones, shark fins, and rhino horns. But people refuse to use them because they want to show off their social status and how wealthy they are. Those ignorants are the one to be blamed. And the only way to solve this problem is via education.
