To try & cut a very long, complex & complicated short, there is a significant weight of circumstantial evidence to suggest that Essex Police definitely gave "the thumbs up" then turned a blind eye to the murders. It has been discovered that Darren Nichols dodgy & bent police handler had a real good friend who was not only Darren employer (a motor bike shop), but also a Clay Pigeon shooting enthusiast...... If you still want or require more information on a THEORY putting the police as main suspects, then get back to me and I'll break it down as to why some believe the police defiantly & at least "gave the thumbs up" & then "turned a blind eye", then get back and I'll try to break the THEORY down so hopefully you can follow it and it better stilk, it all makes sense & stacks up as if it were...... To give credit where it's due, the information came from "crime scene to court room" .

Michael Steele was a regular customer at my work at a Towbar And Trailer Centre in Essex. He used to buy parts for the boat trailer he built to carry the RHIB boat he used to smuggle drugs (obviously I didn't know that was what he was doing then) Darren Nichols lived in my hometown and the bent copper he worked with was seeing a mates mother at the time so I guessed his identity LONG before he was ever named.

Whoever did the killing had HIGH connections.... a rather important note. As one can see, the killers had ice in their veins and were accurate. In the world of organised crime, loose cannons are dealt with. So.... to summarize, these 3 were making enemies everywhere they went, owed lots of money, and were seen as the responsible parties in the passing of the policeman's daughter. It's a perfect Whodunnit. The faces on TV, being cops and criminals, were all street-level nobodies. Only the higher-ups will ever know. They organised it.
